4 turns hitting for +50% damage

3 turns. He doesn't benefit from darkness imperil the turn he applies it. Those abilities are bad enough on later heroes who have them attached to a damaging attack like Eileen or Glauca, they're even worse on a hero where you have to spend a turn doing absolutely nothing at all.

I've been assuming we wouldn't get the DQ collab since we got SoM after all maybe we'll get DQ too. Depending on when exactly we get it I might flush all my tickets on the first week of it. Dragonlord's TM is pretty goddamn retarded, although they did just add it permanently back into the game with Ayaka. Machine killer sword and LMS would be pretty spiffy too.

*edit*

Maybe they'll make buffing others with element damage a thing if they ever get around to a SD3 collab, since elemental sabers were a much bigger thing in SD3.

On the one hand I'm sick and fucking tired of them shitting the game up by splitting a 2 release region into 3 releases and GL exclusive garbage events.

On the other hand, those TMRs are HNNNNNG. Definitely want at least two Artemiosi.

I may do a daily pull or two, but this banner doesn't impress me much (until we know the total skillsets of the exclusives at least). Marie's nice, but don't know that she's a chase unit. Artemios TM seems nice, but I'd rather put things like ring of lucii or 20s dice on my tank for the dodge.

Anyone know of a list of the "must-have" locked chests? Have quite a few keys sitting around at this time.

All of the stat +10% ones. The Bar spells that increase elemental resistance. Finally I'd grab the golem staff for arena. High end teams are using ribbons so it's not as good as it used to be but I'd still grab it.

I've been avoiding fighting thne top 40 or so for this reason.

Running Golem Staff & Lings TM on my Gilgamesh + Ling
Usually able to Paralyze or Stone 3 or 4 members of the opposing party on the first round if they are not a team running Ribbons (more people should used Jeweled Rings ?)

I'll go make sure I picked up all the Bar spells. Is Evo+10% actually worth it?

2nd Excal, 2nd/3rd DW and 1st/2nd DC will be done today/tomorrow.
Going to farm up some of Jack's TM afterwards so I can complete leveling Cecils LB (and take him to 6* -___-)

Maybe for PVP those are better, but for PVE DEF/HP/SPR are king for Tanks, no?

It could just be my background from playing tanks in MMO's, but I always prefer reducing damage incoming vs just stacking HP. Adding 50% dodge (which is literally reducing your damage by half to physical) will lower incoming damage much more than an extra 40% def (which is a total damage reduction of maybe an extra 10% to physical). More HP only matters if you're being one-shot in a round.

Regardless of how much EHP evasion adds, you never rely on RNG for a tank, not ever. That isn't even a FFBE thing, that's in any game.

Truth. Even for the Ninja class in FF11 you had to plan for the case where Blink wasn't refreshed properly and an attack was not evaded with it down. (Then again Ninja was not intended to be a tank players just turned it into one...)

50% dodge != 50% damage reduction given that not all attacks can be dodged. Hard mitigation (Defense, Spirit) and HP always beats out Evade in the end.

It depends on the amounts really. At 10% dodge, sure that's unreliable. At 50% dodge, you're usually going to dodge at least one of a bosses typical 3-4 attacks per round, or sometimes all of them. Every now and then, it's going to fail entirely and your tank may die, so you simply full-life him. I'd say that over a 20 minute trial fight though, 50% dodge will reduce your healing needed by more than some extra defense.

What about if you stack dodge up to 80 or 100%, which is possible with the right TM's. Still not worth considering? Again, it really depends on the fight and how much of a threat the physical hits are vs the magic.

Wasn't it theorized that dodge chance isn't additive, it's just consecutive checks?

If it does work that way, then the total chance would worse and not worth the tradeoff in stats. I don't have the needed TM's to test it myself though.

Do you guys think there's any chance they'll nerf Orlandeau like they did Noctis? Seems like they've generally made GL more balanced than JP (DH doesn't stack etc.), so I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't want to introduce such a big jump in power creep.

So trying to plan out some TMs in order to clean up my inventory. Have pretty much all the weapons I need for a while (2 Excalibur (get second tomorrow), 2 Katana, and soon 2 fists). Are any of these outright not worth doing?

8 Xiao: I figured I will turn into 2 TM (should I do more than 2?)
5 Jack: I'm trying to decide if I get 2 TM or 4 TM out of this. Need this for leveling limit breaks and Rikku going forward.
6 Girl (fuck dailies): Figure I will do 2 of her TM once this event is over. Should be useful for getting units to getting a healer to have infinite mana?
8 Sprite (fuck dailies) and I'll get a 4 TM from these.
4 Amaran:. Thinking 2 TM here... he is common enough
6 Ingus: Should I go for 2 or 3. Does it stack? This seems like it will really only be useful for Exdeath w/ Enhancer equippted.
5 Elle: Thinking 2 TM here since these will take up both accessory slots for my tank
4 Vanille: Thinking 2 TM here

I have no idea why this game give me enough enjoyment to spend money on it. I think the whole party building gives me nostalgia from theory-crafting / optimization in WoW :|

And holy fuck the dailies. Since this event has started I have gotten a Girl or Popoi each day. This was after dumping ~10 tickets (and a 10+1) and getting 4 girls and 6? Popoi.

//Can't wait to go back to work. Paternity leave is boring as fuck when the kid isn't screaming.

It's doubtful that Orlandeau will be nerfed. As it is they are delaying his release by quite a bit compared to when he was released in Japan. I think that's intentional as they know how Meta shifting he is. So they won't nerf him but they keep pushing back his release so he doesn't break the game too badly.

Noctis is unusual since he was released in Japan and Global at the same time. The Japanese game is so much further ahead of us that Noctis needed to be buffed there to be competitive. His global stats are still best in class for us because of where we are at in the game. With that said I do think it's lame that we have a nerfed unit and I hope they bring him up to Japanese stats later on but I'm not holding my breath.

He's not the best on GL by all that much, and Orlandu will be miles and miles ahead of GL Noctis. If GL Noctis were introduced on JP as is, he would be considered unplayable trash tier.

The things that are significant about GL Noctis are his diverse kit including a jump with sustain tied to it allowing him to solo things that other units can't, and him bringing the stop meta to arena several months ahead of schedule. From a damage standpoint GL Noctis is garbage compared to the elemental imperil powerhouses like Orlandu, Tidus, and Eileen.

Additionally, I think I'm gonna campaign for moderator on the platform of permabanning anyone who spells it Orlandeau.
