Would work for sustain fights but still doesn't have the capability to chain. Until mages have multi-hit abilities they will not be relevant in the current meta.

I guess you could use him as a capper but many spells tend to be a complete pain in the ass to time. /slitwrist attempting to cap a chain with Ultima or Meteor.

Meteor, Ultima, and Alterna chain fine once you get the timing down. It's not braindead easy like Fin Briar (which hits so fast that you can 4x chain both hits with just 2 Chizurus) but it can be practiced.

Regarding MP, is there anything that can even survive DC Alterna at the end of a chain? I would assume D.Fina hits for like 2-3M (total) with it, depending on base SPR and whether or not break lands.

Some amusing statistics:

Damage vs 100 def or spr in complete best in slot (including TM's from tomorrow's banner):

Noctis dualwield Warp Break: 1,024,628

DFina or Emperor (they have the same equip/passives/stats) with dualcast Alterna: 2,257,385

That's before breaks, chaining, or killers, and without combat buffs like focus/cheer. If you really can land Alterna after a big chain, it's the best finisher.

Exdeath is pretty much equal to D.Fina and Emperor against his 5 killer targets. According to the post on reddit today, Firion with perfect gear and -killer target only hits for 52.5% (more vs. beasts and plants, since I don't think he took Ifrit's killers into account) of the damage that D.Fina Alterna does, so even if you mess up the chain and only 1 gets boosted, the Alterna still does about 20% more damage.

I regret fusing the 9 or so Ingus's I had together when I figured Letters and Arms was a worthless TM (woops!). I could have made a decked out Exdeath otherwise. Still hoping I get an Emperor from daily pulls this week though.

I only just finished my own Lucii ring this week. It's turned my Refia into the MvP on my arena team with dual alterna capping damage against everyone. Now I'm wondering if it's worth using in PvE.

It's not even vaguely close to sustainable and you won't be OTKing anything important with it. Lucii is just a PVP toy.

Leon's TM makes me hot and bothered. I don't have any units that can really take advantage of it yet but I can see it being very good.

Also the Emperor's TM makes me cry because I'm 50% of the way to an Omnirod. =(

Sounds like there is confirmation that Leon's TM does not stack on Global.

Yeah that makes sense to me considering that it reads just like Blade Mastery, but even so I like it a lot. Even if I can't take advantage of the +20% from armor, Noctis can still use the +30% from a sword.

Just lol... Mages not meta enough? Make another boss with massive physical resistance! I went into the FF2 elite with a pure physical team and was in for a surprise when completely blowing my load with saved up Noctis limits etc and at the end of it the boss lost like 5% health with spam PHYSICAL RESIST the whole time. Double fun because I went in with only 5* Tilith as healer for the no white magic mission.

Still cleared it because Noctis is that fucking broken and can cheat physical resist bosses with hybrid flasks. 5* Tilith did surprisingly well as a healer, and didn't even die!

So we're getting another players choice banner. If (when) Zidane wins the 3* vote, I'm going all in on that banner until I pull at least 4 of him. If by some fluke he doesn't win, I'm going to be rather annoyed.

Well I used 20 summon tickets with out anything super but alright (4 star furion, 4 star Leon, 3 more 4 star red mate w/DC, and a few 3 star furions).

So figured I would buy some Lupis and do up to 5 11 star pulls. First 1 was all blues and 1 yellow, then the next 3 each had an Emp and the last had 2 Emps. So I have 5 emps, I'm assuming I want to save 2-3 of these for TM's or just leave all 5 alone and not fuse?

Got some good dupes. What's the most efficient way to make gold at the moment? I'm still struggling with that. Plenty of cactus's but no gold to level them up. I'm at the decayed shrine in the story, only get 950 gold a clear so not a lot. I haven't sold any materials or anything.

Also do they have events where you can turn in friend points for anything better then 1 stars? I havent used any yet except for one. I was going to try and lvl to 15 fast and see how much gold they self for thinking that might

There's sometimes an event where friend points also give turtles/cactuars, but its extremely rare. I think we've only had that event twice ever?

If you need money do 5 friend summons, put all 5 on a team together. Go into ADV exp vortex with a friend that can solo it. That will level all 5 friend units to level 15+, then sell them all. Each of them will sell for ~5,000 gold, so you earn around 25k for 15 energy.

5 Emperors? The fuck? Give me one...

I probably should have voted Gilgamesh too instead of Ramza, since more genji gloves would be great, but I know there's a lot of Ramza hype after his enhancements, and his chest is BIS, so went with him.

Not like it matters much, since they're over 20 million players now, I doubt I'm the swing vote

Just finished ELT Dreadnought without White Magic. My team was Chiruzu, Ling, Noctis, Exdeath, Cloud of Darkness, and Sinzar's Noctis. Yet again, Ling was my MVP.

Exdeath's job was to 1-shot the Mines and then quickly take down the adds, which he did really well. Noctis was able to Blind the adds so they did almost no damage, but once I ran out of the 4 turns of Armiger defense buffs, things got hairy.

Exdeath and CoD died almost immediately. The rest of the fight was about 45 minutes of me cycling through Hayate/Mirage/Warp Decoy to avoid danage while using Chirizu's counters to build LB for Armigers, Dance of Rebirth for rezzes and Dance of Life to cure Paralysis, and Cover for heals/batter and Fire Flask for damage. In the end I won simply by just dodging the boss's attacks and slowly whittling him down due to infinite MP from Ling and Noctis.

CoD was dead weight the entire time; I think she got Protectga off once the entire fight and was on the floor the rest. I should have brought Refia instead for Embolden and more rezzing, or Charlotte for tanking.

This is kind of funny after the discussion last night. Seems to be the perfect example of a fight that DC Alterna as a finisher would one-shot. I might try it if I can get the one FB friend I have with 800+ MAG D.Fina + Lucii to appear on my list. 3 Edgars, Cecil, and Ling should be able to get it done.

It's not just hype, +2 Hero's Rime is the second dumbest thing in the game after Rikku's LB.
