Two Gilgamesh both using dualwield can chain together nicely with his tri-attack for building a 12 point chain, and he can use every weapon in the game for focusing on whatever elements you want (though with his passive you really want to stick to sword/katana/greatsword).
I'd say it's worth leveling a second Gilgamesh for chains. Chizuru x2 can build a bigger chain, but her elemental coverage is much worse with only dagger/katana access.
Gilgamesh also has some nice enhancements down the road, though whether it's worth spending rare'ish materials on his enhancements over other units is up for debate.
I really hope the PRO & ELT fights don't take 15-20 minutes a piece to complete like some of the JP videos I've seen. I don't think I'll be able to farm ELT if that's the case. I guess I will farm a lower difficulty and hope it's enough to at least get Y'shtola (unless I summon her first). It would be nice to clear ELT at least once for the mission rewards and a big boost to raid points. Either way, we'll find out in about 12 hours.
I wonder if raid orbs will refill on a rank up like all other resources. I'm getting close to my next rank. It will be nice to get a few extra runs in so I can get some extra sleep.

Raid orbs do refill on levelups.
For my first go at the ELT version I'm going to bring Cecil, Ling, Refia, Gilgamesh, Noctis, and if I can find one, a friend Yun. I'll tweak the team after seeing if I need more tankiness from stronger fire resist, or can drop some of the support and go heavier dps. Everyone on my team will have at least 50% natural fire resist before buffs from equipment, espers, or natural stats.
Yun was really made for this encounter it seems. Natural fire resist, paralyze immunity, beast killer, and the ability to equip the tamer's whip (more beast killer). A whale Yun with his own TM, Champion Belt x2, Kaiser Knuckles, and a Tamer Whip is going to tear up Ifrit so hard.

Don't forget about the Beast Cestus (fist, beast killer) for those that did not get the Tamer's Whip or do not have the Kaiser Knuckles TM.
I'm considering going with Cecil (focus/tank), Rain (breaker/buff), Refia (barfiraga/heal), and 2x Chizuru (chains) and then use a whale friend finisher. I don't have enough TMs to get everyone's natural resist to 50% before buffs. I'm going to have to hope that high SPR and 10-30% geared resist is enough, except for Ifrit esper obviously. If I'm having a hard time surviving the fire damage, then I may swap out a Chizuru for Cerius/Minfilia for the extra 20% buff. I'm assuming he will apply the -50% fire debuff every turn, so maybe Bushido Freedom won't be that good as a party dispel.

I'd lvl my firion since I have the TM's to really help him shine but with the need to raise noct and possibly gilg if/when I get them I rather not waste the mats just yet. Not sure on a 5th, if it truly is a long fight i'll probably run Emp but I will see. Noct will get the nod when I pull him.

First try on Elite I went too glass cannon'ish and got blown the fuck up. Made some team tweaks and went back and flawless killed it second try with all missions. It's not too bad with proper execution. Some key points:
Make your entire team paralyze immune if you can. You don't want to waste turns curing that shit every round.
Bushido: Freedom to full dispel your team every time he does his -50% FR debuff, if it's still up when he does it a second time, likely wipe.
Recast fire resist after using Bushido on yourself.
Stack fire resist if possible, and keep breaks up.
Auto-buff skills or gear are nice, since with the dispelling yourself and incoming damage, you don't have many "free" turns to recast buffs. Demonic life, defense bracer, etc.

Three tickets, half price summon and 11 pull for me. Cecil, Zidane, Exdeath.... and MY FIRST EVER RAINBOW... Gilgamesh!!! I will take it! He was my top choice anyway. Also got a couple good trust moogle for Blade Mastery and Save the Queen.

1 daily, 16 tickets to get 2x Zidane, 1x Snow, 1x Cecil for banner units
Don't even care I'd have given 30+ tickets for 1 Zidane after not pulling any for a year. Going to daily pull until the final day, then resume ticket pulls until I get at least 1 more Zidane and 1 Chizuru.

5th roll of 11's and got my noctis joy! Kind of want to see if I can get a Gilgamesh, I have 45k lapis from prior purchases... will see!
actually fuck it with all the mog trucks...its worth it spending what I have in at least lapis. I have 25+ summon tickets ill hold those and build up abit for hopefully Orlandu banner.
My first raid summon had 1xThancred, 1x moggle (Y'shtola) and 9 materials... so bad. I guess it's making up for my Gilgamesh pull. I know the coins are flowing in fast so I'm hoping for Minfilia today/tomorrow. By the way, Sinzar, you made that ELT Ifrit fight look easy... I just don't have the TM's or units to output that kind of damage. I think I'll wait a bit on ELT and finish farming a few TM's this weekend (Chizuru 87% and Gaff 67%) and give it a shot with a Minfilia support and bushido blade. I knew that materia would be useful for this raid!
