What would you recommend as a properly geared companion unit to help with clearing this? I don't have any *5 base units to put to share, but maybe an Ifrit/fire resist geared/DW (Beast Killer weapon) Firion could be helpful to someone? I'm assuming you can stack beast killer from Ifrit, weapon, and passive.

*edit: Just realized that Bushido Freedom might be really useful to dispel the fire resist/atk debuff from Ifrit. Just put it on a low damage support unit. Maybe? Then CoD omniveil would be really helpful. Or Carbunkle barfiraga.

I don't know the first thing about this raid, I was just talking about the way raids work in general. I've only been playing on JP since the beginning of the year.

I'm not worried about global raid rank, I just want to pull Y'shtola and get her upgraded before the end of the event.

True, using the raid coins, there is the possibility of pulling Y'shtola before you earn the points to get her for free. I'm wondering how that is going to work. Maybe like the arena tickets, where you can pull crafting mats (for unit specific gear), enhancing mats, and units? Or probably just stay like the current crappy banner drop rate summons.

BTW people might want to consider holding pulls until Gumi acknowledges and fixes the broken banner.

I don't pay much attention to daily pulls but its funny you say that I did have 3 of last 5 daily's result in Shera and thought wtf lol.

On the rank rewards....seriously what the fuck? That makes just no god damn sense on any fucking level. I'm not sure of the global player base but its strong enough that you need to give rewards based off % finish not these stupid tiny limited rankings. Seriously, you are going to range a magnatitude of 5 X the reward between 1st and 100th rank which lets just say 1M people actively play Global just for shits and giggles, so that's only the top .01% of people are getting shit worth any consequence and that .01% has a variance of 5 X the potential award amongst themselves?

There is no logic in the worldf that defends this bullshit including the desire to get players to spend money to try and get top rank. I will bet my entire house that revenue generation on lapis refills would be significantly higher if a larger base of players could get the juicier reward. Its just fucking retarded on any level and very disappointing to see. I only played BF limitedly but at least they had a much better break out of rewards for ranking that made some what sense if I recall. This ....while ultimately doesn't matter much is still bat shit crazy.

There's 3 "rank" rewards from the raid.

The first is individual: Each time you clear the raid, you earn X points. Each time you earn a total of X, you get a milestone reward. Here's the JP milestones, which will probably change, but should be similar for global. Everyone will get the whole list if they play the event consistently.

There's also the server rank rewards. There's another chart of rewards that everyone on global gets based on how many times serverwide he's killed. Just as an example, the entirety of the christmas raid server rewards was unlocked in like 24 hours or less of the raid opening, so basically it's just a fancy way of giving everyone a bunch of extra free stuff.

Then there's the competitive ranks or whatever you want to call it, where you're ranked against everyone else for another set of rewards. Everyone who plays for the event should rank somewhere between 1-3 summon tickets without even trying. Above that needs lapis refreshing, and as I mentioned earlier, should be completely ignored by everyone. Christmas raid had a few people who spent somewhere between 1,000-2000$ on refreshing just so they could have their epeen shown on a top 10 chart. The actual rewards for #1 was like 4 trust moogles or something (which you can get the same amount of trust for a team for around 700 lapis overnight macroing in ES, aka about 5$ worth....)

10-4 I understand what they are doing as a whole, i'm simply stating there is in no way shape or form any defendable logic on why the fuck you would have rewards ranging a magntitude of 5 X within 1-100 people when that represents basically a rounding error of the population. Its just fucking stupid at any level from theirt side or the customers side. Oh well, plenty of good things about the game so not complaining but its still pure stupidity.

I think Gumi is trying to subtly hint that we need more fire resist for the coming raid. Shera's material has 20% on it. I agree that the pulls are still broken. Hopefully they compensate us for it. I burned a few tickets and a couple of 1/2 price summons trying for Snow and Ramza. I think I got 2 Shera's from it...

The fact that you don't have to use bonus units means that raids really aren't as hard as people are imagining. Barfira from Carbuncle should be enough, and if it isn't just bite the bullet and awaken Cerius to 6* for Barfiraga.

I'm tempted to just level Minfilia instead of Cerius. I think in the long run, Minfilia will be more useful and a better support unit. Besides, she gets barfirage at *4, where Cerius has to be *5 before he gets his. Also, Minfilia's overall stats are a lot better, she has cheer & focus, and she has a counter-attack heal materia ability. I think I would rather invest the cactuars/gil and materials into Minfilia. I do have a lvl 80 Cerius to fill in until I get her, though. But really, I wonder how much different 20% resist will make if I just keep Focus up and use Carbuncle. I do have Flame mail, Flame shield, Force Armor, Force Shield, Red ring, and 2x Blaze rings to supplement.

Oh haha I'm such a derp, yes use Minfilia, not Cerius. You'll almost certainly want Minfilia down the road for Dark Espers anyway, unless you have Marie.

Just finished Dark F. TM and emp's is 65%. Started a 2nd emp to replace her, I want to be able to have at least 1 mage BiS.

Okay, Nox emulator question. Is there a way to remove the "Today's Pick" button and/or functionality? I swear I saw a post somewhere about how to remove/uninstall that feature, but I can't seem to find it again. Whenever FFBE crashes, it auto-drops the Today's Pick game on a new page and FFBE does not auto-launch. It usually runs pretty solid for an entire day, but lately it's getting worse and really annoying.

The todays pick and other advertising related stuff with Nox is builtin to their default launcher. To remove it, replace the launcher with a custom one (I use Nova, get it free from the google play store inside Nox), then go into the file manager in root mode and manually delete or rename the default Nox launcher. It's under system -> app and called something like launcher_preinstall_signed.apk or something like that (should be obvious when you're in the folder). Congrats, no more todays pick bar or advertisements.

so did my 1/2 pull today and got a rainbow, was hoping for ramza, ended up gettign my 2nd gilg, and used a ticket summon, on the same banner, and got a zidane, well do dual wield will be possible for me in the future, but question, do i use both gilgs? i mean i think i want 2 genji gloves, but so far thats my 3rd 5* base, (2 gilgs, 1 olive) do i need to worry about the glgs as much, or focus on olive as well?


also i cannot get nox or memu to work so so far no TM's as of yet( other than rizer)
