Yeah I've never been a fan of pure HP stacking on a tank, unless you're using something like a complete heal spell. I've been working on defensive TMR's recently. About to finish up a Tilith TM, and two Cupid Artemios TM's are on the way. One should finish before the esper trial, but the other one's only around 30% right now. Warrior of Light should be upgrading to 6* any day now, and I think he can get even better defensive stats than Cecil. Winged Saint + 2 Champion Belts or Soluna Bands on WoL should be some absurd defense number. Then he has that +100% defense when his hp goes under 30% passive...

As for Yshtola, 1% droprate isn't so bad when you're getting 15-20 summons per raid orb.

On ELT, yes, which most people are not clearing. PRO gives a little over 600 coins (6 summons) at the current raid level. Although, I have been getting a lot of Y'shtola's trust moogles so I may be able to get her TM right away instead having to farm for it or hoping for a bunch of dupes of her.

Yeah, that's true. She does have the guaranteed drop from raid rewards though. Does that JP raid 5* unit also come from milestone rewards Twilight? If not, that's probably the reason for a higher droprate.

I'm not sure how good Yshtola's TM is compared to +MP or HP for a healer. Hard to say if it's worth trying to farm multiple after the raid rewards are finished.

That brings up a decent question... is it worth the space to hold one of the event people at <100% and fuse the others to 100% until the end of the event? I'm 3 thancred TMs done so far, and I don't think I'll hold one of him, but I might keep a spare Y'shtola at 0% (if I get more than one and master one for the TM) and spare minfilia. Just in case I ever feel the need to get another one of their TMs.

No reason to keep Minifilia extra past the event. Garent TMR is 2x as good.

On a side note. I regret not pulling to get Ling. I just did the daily free summons trying to save lapis and tickets. At the time I didn't know she would turn out to be such an amazing unit and almost mandatory for future content. I also got a late start on TM farming, which is starting to make a huge difference. What kind of TM's should I be targeting for the next big trials (Dark Esper or DQ I'm assuming)? I'm trying to be a little more proactive rather than reactive. TM's just take too long to farm as F2P.

Also, you only get one of her exclusive ability as a reward. It doesn't seem to counter that often (20%), but it heals for a lot (1400 with very little SPR gear).

She's not mandatory, she just gives a few things ahead of schedule. 6* WoL will bring AoE 45% breaks and lots of units will bring the other stuff in Ling's kit.

My general opinion on TM's is that your first order of business is to work on the top DPS TM's, such as dualwield or genji glove, blademastery, black cowl, +30 atk accessories, +30% atk materia, and the high end weapons like excalibur, etc. We're all buddies here on the forum and don't care how each other's units are geared, but having a tricked out friend unit is a good way to land random whales on your friend list, and the more the better, especially for stuff like this raid event.

Dual wield breaks the game, so try to get at least 2 or 3 of them asap.

Once you've built at least one high end DPS with TM's, I'd say work on your trial / high end PVE kit, which means survival and sustaining TM's, such as things like doublecast, ribbon / discernment, soluna ring, rainbow robe / minerva bustier, 30% hp, etc.

Mage TM's have their use in some content, but they're too niche for me to recommend you to work on unless you spend cash on lapis refreshing.

Wow... My very first pull after earning Y'shtola was my very first pulled Y'shtola. I think the rates are way less than 1%. I was able to finish one TMR straight up with all the saved Moogles.

Sent you an invite too a_skeleton_03.

I got Y'sh around 400k in, haven't had as much time as i'd like so wasted a lot flying by pro. Sitting at 750k at the moment so just going to keep creeping at this point. I do like the idea of getting rid of Cecil since my Marie can cover spirit buff. I'll have to see if I have enough cact's to level up my 2nd noct or Olive as a replacement to help speed things up (probably noct since I'm only at 30% for my 2nd sparky and its not in my current rotation for TM's).

Tmr farming is slow, but eventually you'll see yourself break through. Events will get easier, resulting in even more growth from event items. Pick your best character and focus on best In slot for it. Better to have one amazing character than 2 good ones.

I have a free slot or two as well from inactive people. I'll be sending requests as well. I tried to add you yesterday, Angelwatch, but it said your list was full. Thanks for the advice Sinzar. I have DW x2, DC, Excalibur, and Blade Mastery done to date. Bracer at 80%, Genji Glove at 35%, and Shine's at 25%. Just started Leon's this morning. I think I'll work on a Ribbon soon. Status ailments are definitely a pain in new/current content.

It's been mentioned before, but worth mentioning again. Even as a F2P, once you have a good roster of units with all important roles covered, dedicating 5,000 - 7,000 lapis to hard refreshing out a set of 5 key TM's is a very good investment. Lapis grinding 2 copies of dualwield, an excalibur, blademastery, and a doublecast for example will raise your power level infinitely more than a single 10+1 pull.

With lapis refreshing, you can go 0 to 100% on 5 TM's in about 5-6 days (instead of ~5-8 weeks doing it naturally). As F2P, you don't want to do it often, but once or twice to get the best TM's for a base is worth it.

Just don't refresh until rank 85+, as it's not really worth it before then.

Edit: In my example, those are the exact TM's you had already, lol, but you get the idea!

Until recently, my best DPS units were Chizuru and Exdeath. Now I have a little more focus with Gilgamesh. I was thinking of waiting until around rank 100 before doing any lapis refreshes. Also, the 2-3 10% trust moogles we get each month really helps (arena, farm event, and end-of-month rewards). Less than two weeks away ;)
