If anyone wants to see what one of my really shitty Arena matches look like, here's a video. I'll try to post one later that chains properly.
I've been getting up to rank 400 at the end of my rounds, then it drops back to 800-900 by the time 4 orbs recharge. Still not getting any opponents that give more than 1.2 ratio though, which is frustrating.
And yes, I know the weekly results don't matter but considering that you want to fully level up all your main units' HP, I'm certainly not going to say no to two extra Tough pots if I can get them. Really wish you could see what the monthly score at rank 3000 is. I'm 5500 now, so I'm sure it's too late to close the gap, but I'd like to know what it would take for next month to get 2 moogles.

im staying right around the same rank as you, compared to the previous two weeks where I was staying around 4-5k, so im thinking as long as they dont disable dualcast again anytime soon, exdeath should make it possible to keep up with the mega whales who just brute force their wins with a full team of 5* base.

DC ban would kind of suck but I think I'd still do fine with 1 Meteor and DW Sunbeam. I couldn't be lazy and just auto when Meteor's black screen fades, since you can see in my video that CoD went first and her Sunbeams didn't chain for shit. When they do, it does just as much damage as meteor (I've actually seen something hit for about 4280, and I'm not sure how that can happen since the cap should be 999*4).

Finally completed Dualcast by merging two Ludmilles with 40% worth of moogles. Single cast Refia really wasn't cutting it anymore, especially without having Cecil ready to go yet.
Plus there's a strong indication that XIII is up next, and this is another magefest so it will come in handy on Tellah or Kefka. Hope to have a second 6* Exdeath ready to go for it, but I've got no time, nrg, or sacred crystals to spare for Arcs.

I never rerolled and just played with what I got. My account is far from what could be called top tier or anything, but I've cleared everything in the game 100% just fine.
Rerolling can let you catch up to veteran players faster, because the top units are really just that brokenly overpowered for what's in the game, but it's not at all required. Every event and super boss has F2P videos up within a day showing how to win with budget teams, no TM, etc etc.

The thing is, if you're doing everything the game has to offer for a noob it takes quite a bit of time to catch up. Getting a top tier unit to start with is just worth it, especially since one of them is on the current banner and is far easier to obtain.
Yeah, you can start with less, but it'll just likely make it take more time than it would if you had just rerolled a bit to get a top tier unit.

Rerolling for units is just the beginning. If you want the best gear and abilities, you have to leave your emus running every night to farm the lowest energy dungeons for weeks to get one character done. Every other event is a farm the same encounter for two straight weeks to get enough currency for King Mog. Sure, you don't NEED all of that, but the event encounters can be extremely annoying without the OP stuff. Just letting you know what kind of investment to honestly expect before you jump in.

leveling units is becoming an issue. 100 gi catars per event doesn't get 1 new character to 100. farming Mystic Woods is direct competition w/ TM farming. what to do, what to do.
how do y'all farm Mystic Woods? I don't have any whale friends that can solo the boss, so I need at least 1 of my main characters to farm the zone. this cuts into the exp heavily. so instead of doing my Delita (100) and Gilgamesh (5 stars still), I also bring a few other characters that I plan to eventually max. This reduces the exp lost to Delita from 50% down to 20%.
