Uhhhhg. After leveling many classes in P2, P3 and P4, there's just no way I'm wiping my character from last weekend. I been reading the new official SE technical forums, and it seems that the consensus is there is no fucking way SE will fix this in the next 32 or so hours until Early Access goes live. I'm starting to see people making trades and it seems to work.

You can't just re-input the pre-order code in and get the right one? That's what I did. Also got 2 emails, 1 yesterday giving the same EU code I got the day before and 1 today repeating the same NA code I got yesterday(seems their automated system takes about a day).

Some people got it to work, some didn't. 2 emails? lol I got over 25 in my inbox, I know that code by heart. There's actually a lot of people still stuck, but I'd rather trade on this forum than with someone from the SE forums.
Copy/Paste from my reddit post. I doubt theres anyone who was stupid enough to leave it till the last minute like myself but just in case.
tl/dr Game Stop can still print backup early access/pre order codes for FFXIV. If they tell you they can't ask for the manager. They most certainly can.
Also to those of you confused by RAAE codes. When I put in my first code I received a RAAE code. Skimming the thread at work made me thing something was wrong but I just clicked the little link on that page where it says go here to redeem code. Logged in and entered my RAAE code with no issues at all and my shit is good to go. My account is NA not EU. The code is case sensitive however, it failed when I used lower case letters. YMMV but it was a pretty straight forward process and my account is enabled so eh.

Like a number of others from what I found on google it never crossed my mind 1.0 accounts would not be able to play early access. On my way to work I stopped at a game stop and was told they could no longer issue early access codes.
That sounded odd so I did some googling. Called another local store after work around 7:15 and explained that I was told codes were no longer available but that appeared incorrect after looking online. Not only did he immediately print up a valid "backup code" he told me not to worry about coming in to place a pre-order to get it since I told him up front that's what I intended.
Which is why Joe/Joel is getting a mall gift card for lunch or whatever tomorrow after I leave work. He was also pretty pissed I was lied to and asked me what store and what time I was told this.
But yeah don't blow up your local game stops phone trying to get a free code like a dick but if you need one go place a $5 pre-order and you will be good to go tomorrow!
PS If there are any game stop employees round let me know if it's not kosher to give the man a gift card as a reward for his excellent customer service. I know some companies are iffy on it because it can be construed as him giving me the code for payment.

CE items should be a separate code from both pre order and cd key. Digital I imagine you will get an e-mail. If you bought a physical copy it will be in the box. At least that's how it was for 1.0.

I preordered (and canceled) this twice from amazon, so I have two codes. I just used one and was able to get into NA Early Access with it with no problems on the account I was using during the open beta. If you would like, I can send you the other code, no need to trade anything. It may or may not work, but should, since the code I used was the first (older one) and the code I'll give you is from last week. I dunno. But if you want it its yours, just PM me.
I see you online right now so I doubt this'll be an issue, but if you don't see this post right away and I don't see your PM tonight, I'll send it by 10 am tomorrow morning.

Problem is even if people get eu codes for their eu account even though they are in the NA, when it comes time to bill it's going to not go through and dick with their access.
They are already covering their ass on the official forums. This is something I saw before I just decided to make a new account and register my code on the new account.

The whole 3102 ordeal plus the fact that I honestly don't really have time to play this because of my incoming school schedule kinda turned me off to it, but figured I'd grab early access since I had the code anyway. Might be able to put another day or two in before classes...

When you equip a job (via equipping a soul like armor/weapons) you are still playing as the base class. It just changes your base stats around and limits the cross class abilities to the classes that are pre-req's for that job and allows you to use job speicifc skills (which are locked behind quests and kind of shitty in some cases. So once I hit 30 on my pugilist and do the monk quest, if I were to equip the job soul I would be a level 30 monk and xp gained would advance my pugilist but I could no longer use cure or protect which are my main cross class abilities atm.
It's kind of an odd balancing act. Until you unlock more of your skills for most jobs you're probably better off with more diverse cross class skill options. For example the first skill for a monk is a different combo ender that does about 30% less damage but is an aoe. So do I want an aoe or do I want the option to cast cure in a pinch to prevent a death/wipe. I like the idea I just wish there were more damn skills.

I registered an NA account for beta and early access. Somehow it turned into an EU account between then and now. When I went to register my NA code for early access, after having played last week before 3102, it said I had a code for the wrong region. I made a new account, therefore losing my archer progress (I would be more upset if I had leveled to 20 and poured time into crafting) registered the preorder code to the new account and it worked. So basically I'm starting over. I would be pissed though and just wouldn't play had I not 3102'd and poured tons of time into the character.
