Errmm... starting 2 weeks later sounds good to me, even if I remain several levels behind everyone and their mothers, I will live and maybe log in without much trouble then.

It's a shame they still bomb at those aspects, however.

Square could do so much better than this. Then again, they might think it's cute to keep this tradition of sucking at account management and such.

God only knows I tried to retrieve my ffXI acc info to get into this and it gave me a headache.

There is nothing new about this game AT ALL. 99% will be bored to fucking tears in a month. I liked it because of the same reason everyone else does. Fresh coat of paint. The downtime and issues to this point are the Achilles heal. I also was giving it a chance because SE "appeared" to give a shit about their previous fuck up. That isn't the case after this launch.

the game is decent, and there is NOTHING to play right now. I'm sick of playing dota and crappy indie games..

It will get better, once all these fair weather gamers cancel their accounts.

Square is stupid, since they could easily get a few cloud providers to beef up their server load for a few months.

The fact that I actually care that the servers are down is a good sign. I honestly haven't really enjoyed an MMO in a long time so this is refreshing. The MMO's i've played in the past few years merely served the purpose of feeding the beast, but I knew I didn't really enjoy them. This does not fall in to that category. There is no need to over-think it.

He is not allowed to think it is all that? Best mmo I have played (for me) since EQ.

And servers crashing, etc, meh. Happens to all mmos at lauch, no matter how much you scream "what year is this, lol!" because that has been stated about every mmo launch. They have problems, but I had no problems in the game itself. But that is me being lucky. I did not use duty finder when it was down, and been away for much of the server downtime. Still annoying, and missed some, but.... as I said before, since I am annoyed that I can not play, actually canceling it would just make sure that I could not play it. Makes no sense to me to do that. Not like there are any other mmos out right now that I want to play.

If that makes me a white knight apologist then so be it

And? It's not like any of that is some big revelation. It's still better than the alternative... being bored to tears with the current shit out there while listening to ESO & EQN fanbois pontificate on how their latest and greatest with cure cancer and solve world hunger.

This is by far... more entertaining.

got to play the level 35 dungeon (shrine of something?) this morning and its the first one i would call difficult. im looking forward to the harder version of it.

There are problems, and there arePROBLEMSThey all had some minor shit wrong with them, but they were all pretty much playable 24/7. Not this downtime for 3hrs every 3 hrs to fix nothing.

I tried, after it should have been technically going down, but Gilg was still locked. I tried another server and got the error that I wasn't authorized to create a character on this world, since it was going down.

So am i, some of the rest of you who can't take it go cancel your preorders. (Although I would address this to the whole server population, not specifically our FC)

I'm really liking the game but all this shit is beyond excusable in 2013 following 14 years (?) of MMO releases. As has been pointed out there is exactly zero new here. Sure there are legitimatereasonswhy the errors are occurring, but no legitimate excuse as to why they should occur.

Also, played WoW (FAR worse launch), EQ2 (meh launch), AoC (not bad launch, horrid game), Swtor (bad), Aion (meh), TERA (think that one worked, can not remember problems, but can not remember the game either). Basically tried every mmo there is, at launch, trying to find that "feeling" you know.... That is never there.
However, with this game, I have woken up wanting to play. Not had that since EQ. Now the servers are down and I feel like I have withdrawals, even if I am a casual. And the solution you guys have to not being able to play is to cancel it?

Ut, you fun, you obviously know your shit about mmos, but dude. Other people have other experiences than you. Sometimes people even like the same old rehashed shit that you might not

Not canceling my pre-order and going to camp the login page when I am done with dinner. Have fun patrolling the mmo boards looking for games to hate on while I will be playing a game I actually like for once:p
