I completely understand why people are pissed and would quit over what's happened. If you cancel your preorder right now you are 1000% justified.
That being said, the server and the game really are two distinct ly different things. Its almost like a themepark having some killer ride thats always packed and is frequently down for maintence. You can see why people would avoid the ride, but that doesn't change the fact that the ride is great when it works.

That's their fix? Implement 1017 restrictions ala last weekend? Bleh, not looking like we'll get much play time today. Good sign for me though, that I'm so desperate to play. Legit haven't felt that since WOW. Also, if you fagbots hate the game - more power to ya. You aren't going to change anyone who actually enjoys its opinion though. Try harder. Not to say this game will last, blah blah blah - but for today, Sunday 8/25/13 - I'm having an absolute ball when the game is working correctly. "Same tired systems, not innovative, etc". Shut the fuck up already and play, or don't. Nobody really cares if you love it or hate it. Plenty of other shit to play and/or do.

Were on what, day 2, of an MMO you paid $20 for and the servers have been down a few times. I know we have our poopsockers here, but whoopty do. Yeah it sucks I can't progress my main story quest, but we are on day 2. The game hasn't even fully "launched" yet, and doesn't cost 1/2 of what shittier MMO's do for a box.
I'm not trying to white-knight here, but do you guys really expect all MMO launches to be flawless? History should have taught you to expect otherwise. I'm just finding other RL shit to do in between, and I know better than to take time off and plan to poopsock an MMO on opening weekend. This launch will not kill this game, and in 2 weeks when the game is running flawlessly, a lot of you that are complaining about some downtimes/instance issues will be back pretending as if nothing ever happened. I've seen it before. Anyways, I didn't go into this game intending to poopsock, but rather play in my spare time over the next 3-6 months or longer if possible, and I am really enjoying the game myself. In my opinion it is the best MMO since vanilla WoW. I really doubt someone can name me a better one, but yet again it is personal preference.
Some of you also forget this is the only PS3 mmo right now, so it's got double the user base to pull from as normal MMO's. Anyways, doom and gloom sky is falling is fun to watch at the launch of any MMO. This will all be a bad memory in a week or so, and very few people are going to cancel preorders due to this, and the ones that do will probably be back once the game stabilizes and all their friends are saying how awesome it is. As I said in the FC, MMO's always have problems. I'd rather have server problems initially, than core game problems later, and it "seems" SE has the latter part taken care of. But for $20 and a couple months sub, I will enjoy myself to find out.

Hopefully all the people who are all whining about canceling just do, and don't login. Would give room to people who want to play.
BTW: HAs anyone gotten on Gilgamesh since the servers are back up? Getting 1017, but ARR Status still shows all servers down. So, thats a smidge unusual.

I'm on Marb incase anyone rolls while we wait to get into Gilg. Can't log in now anyways with the world is full (no queue). I tried last night at 3:30 AM to create a character on gilg right before the servers went down and no dice. Shit is locked tighter than Marian's snatch in Robinhood men in tights.
I have no problems with the downtime. Early release is still beta in my eyes. After official release then maybe ill be a little upset. Do far my only complaint was the poor server choice but fuck it, it is what it is.

Yeah they should do that. People like me who wanted to play, if anything to have a few laughs for a few weeks with some good gaming folks here, while their account is all fucked up and cannot log into the server. And even when you CAN get into the game, the retardation of a broken system across all scopes of an MMORPG launch come into play more so then ever.
There is no excuse for any of this. None. Period. Just like there wasn't an excuse when they fucked the first version of this title.

...yeah 1017 is just that the servers are still down I think. I can't even get into Excalibur, which I know isn't nearly as packed as Gilgamesh. And oh, it's a Utnayan post. Hi!

I mean, really. Just do it. Don't talk the talk but walk the walk too. Let people who want to play play. It's like WoW launch with all the server crashes, looting issues, database problems, etc. People threatened to cancel, etc, but no one really did. It's all just talk, unfortunately.
