One thing that's a painfully obvious cut corner is support. Blizzard to their credit setup a standalone support/gm center in Texas prior to WoWs launch. They recognized that MMOs need robust support to maximize customer retention.
Square cheaping out and not setting up a major US support center is a HUGE blunder. A centet that would have more than paif itself back in retained subs and positive word of mouth. Just very poor planning and being penny wise but pound foolish imo.
