I'm in. Just keep retrying. I had to try about 15 times (quit and reload) till I made it in. Queue was 283 but it only took about 45 seconds to log me on.

I'd say its the worst i've experienced, I can't even think of any other launch to compare it to. I'm experiencing rage I haven't since wotlk patches that took most of primetime to bring up my server.

I was so happy I got in a queue. Then I got 1017'd out of the queue. I'm sad again. I really like the game, but goddamn this launch has been a clusterfuck rollercoaster.

The launch is not flawless by any means, I don't think anyone is arguing that, and I can totally understand people's annoyance by it. It all boils down to personal levels of tolerance though. I can tolerate some downtime/problems the first few days of an MMO launch, as long as the game itself is solid/fun, and they get the issues ironed out in the first week or so. I've been playing it since P2, waiting since April to fully enjoy the game, I can wait another week. I intend on playing this for months, so the first week is no big deal to me. I will get my time out of it and enjoy it, I am not worried about that. Hell, we aren't even on sub time yet. And maybe I am just jaded, but I just come to expect the first week of an MMO launch to run shitty, so I plan accordingly. Don't get me wrong, I do wish we could have flawless MMO launches, and people could all poopsock and drink for 72 hours straight, but it just never happens.

Some people have different tolerance levels though of what they think are acceptable problems during an MMO launch. I just think it's a bit idiotic that because someone can't play the game exactly perfect for the first few days, it's all doom and gloom this game sucks it's a total failure and it is going to burn in the ashes of all MMO's since past, and say how they are going to laugh at all the people who continue to play this horrible game. There is being realistic and then there is just being an extreme impatient ass, and I was mainly speaking to those people.

Anyways, I would rather be playing right now than debating this crap on forums lol.

Has anyone tried the Duty Finder yet? Did they fix it finally?

I already know the answer but it's fun to ask anyway.

Really am curious who does all their server work. Cause whoever or whomever it is really sucks.

I think part of the problem is that those complaining are also connecting the garbage launch to the longevity of the game itself, which is something those who like the game simply don't accept. I like the game, this launch (which really hasn't even started yet) has been the worst I've seen, and I can't even imagine how bad it is going to be when the game actually goes live. I didn't dedicate my entire weekend around this though, so the people who looked like they were preparing for Hurricane Sandy must be pretty butt hurt. I also find the entire argument about "this game isn't anything new" to be fallacious. The entire reason I enjoy this game is because of its traditional model, with a lack of gimmicks that seemed pretty ubiquitous in Guild Wars 2 (that game has a lot of 'new'). When I play a game all I care about is fun, and being 'new' is not synonymous to being fun. That said, no one wants another WoW clone, but I am not sure yet if that's what this game is. I don't think so, but I'll have a better idea in a few months.

Hopefully they're getting fired after this whole debacle is over.
Come full launch it's going to explode big time, especially sunday.

I was on at 6am and shit was as smooth as a newborns ass. Got most of my Duty Finder crap done while no one was on.

keep trying guys, you'll make it on. When I logged on a bunch of people started shouting "wow i just got on" and everyone said pretty much "yeah me too".

This x1000. Surely there's a way to find out who they co-lo'd with in Canada ?

Also concerned this is a massive infrastructure problem that isn't going to be fixed any time soon. More servers will not help how they all apparently depend on the same shitty instancing hardware. And depending on how they designed it (ha ha) , it's likely not something they setup to scale that part easily with more hardware.

It will be interesting to see the numbers on this one. I am assuming that SE pulled a WoW and were planning for like a few hundred thousand subs, and probably got in the millions. Also I would assume most people that are wanting to play at launch already preordered and are in early access. Tuesday shouldn't be a huge deal, as if someone wanted the game they would already be in. It might even be less because it is on the weekdays when kids/people are at work/school. I am hoping incomers will be staggered at this point, as individuals join up with friends/guildies because of word of mouth, etc. I do wish SE would just implement a regular working queue and a character timeout, if overcrowding is partly to blame to this problem.
