I don't feel like too many people are white-knighting square specifically, as much as they expected this as an inevitability. Especially after the "oh, they even fucked up the account registration and key redemption" phase last week. SE is pretty incompetent, yeah. I pretty much just expect to have a terrible MMO launch experience every time at this point as my default. I know people are saying stuff like "wow was 10 years ago", but my experience with RIFT and GW2 was pretty bad too. I just kind of expect that every MMO launch is going to be shit for about a week, and if they somehow DO have a smoothe launch, I'm pretty dumbfounded. That said, this is one is pretty bad. I just think that canceling accounts is pretty extreme and wonder why people pre-buy MMOs rather than wait awhile. I feel like expecting an awesome launch week as the default is setting yourself up for disappointment, no matter how great the game. It's not square apologetics, it's just how it always seems to be.

Damn, so where do they expect us to play? The account set up was a pain in the ass itself.
I'll be honest though , me and most of my friends played Rift and SWTOR without close the downtime nor login problems that this has had.
Flawless ? No.
Better than this shit ? By far.
Just figures SWTOR's game turned out to be horrific and this one seems fun , if only some company could get both infrastructure and the game right.

Got kicked and now back to having no queue :/ I just wanted my stupid fucking mount but instead I've been running around for 3 hours being a delivery boy.

There was only one server last night that you could create new characters on - Sargatanas (Legacy)
I doubt they will open the current servers for char creation tomorrow - so they need to open some new ones.
Honestly I don't think the additional players will be that huge, the only people who have access to the game and not Early Access were non-Legacy 1.0 players, and it was simple enough to Pre-Order from Amazon then cancel to get a free code that I don't see that as a barrier to anyone who really wants to play.
TLDR Everyone that wants to play already has been or been trying this weekend. The issue is a lot of on the fence people or people who saw hype on the forums between Open Beta and Early Access was much greater than S-E apparently anticipated.
I don't know, I guess I just have very low expectations of this genre because I expect them all to be really, really bad at launch and that's been my reality. The queues on rift were so bad that I didn't get to play much at all the first week, since my time was pretty limited in bursts and I didn't have hours to wait on queues. My problem on GW2 was that I couldn't join any of my friends on their server of choice because it filled up fast, and I had to wait several days before it allowed new characters, and even then I spent ages in overflow queues and I had zero interest in that since I wanted to play with friends. It's a particularly terrible launch in a genre where bad launches are the norm, but I'm surprised with how passionate and surprised people are about it.

Will having an official stamped seal of authenticity of this being the worst MMO launch of all time make you feel any better about it? No.
Apparently some of you have forgotten the hours upon hours, (and sometimes into a couple of days) of hammering the Login servers for WoW with nearly every expansion they launched prior to MoP. People were unable to log in for hours, and some for even days - forget about being unable to create a character, this was the inability to even get to the character selection screen.
This ain't the old days where we have a developer from random companies watching the forum for complaints. There is no bat phone here. Your bitching is falling on deaf ears, and no one really cares. We get it, the servers suck, some of you can't login.WE GET IT.

You weren't able to get your lvl 30 quest at the class quest person? There's a quest every 5 levels from what I've seen. You should just visit the same one you've been going to for all the others to get it. Once you finish that one, you'll get another immediately after for your job quest, which will send you to another quest npc (who I believe is the job quest npc from there on out).
As far as story quest, I know I couldn't figure out where my next one was when it sent me to those fuckers west of Horizon (Millina or whatever her name is). Can't remember the little town name, but the one with the blonde chick with big boobs who wears pink, the midget girl, and the two fucks who are always appearing too late (shorty and chick with a dick). I'd run over there and check to see if you don't have a story quest.

anyhow still enjoying the game. definitely the most fun ive had on an mmo since vanillo wow and there isnt even pvp. thats saying alot for me.

I wonder how many days of you guys not being able to log in it will take before you pick another server. The server issues are horrid yes but you guys and everyone on the internet picked like 4 servers. It's odd that while some of you find the game fun you would rather cancel your order than move. Once you know what you are doing it takes maybe a day or 2 played to get level 35+. Just restart on a new server and you will have fun again. You get to play without ANY issues and if you really need to be on a full+ server you can switch when ever they put transfers in.
Staying on galg cause you are 30+ is SIIIILLLLYYYY. They aren't going to "fix" the servers so 25k people can play in one place.

im glad i only tried to get on gilg for 20 min and not 3 days jesus. no wonder some of you are losing it.
While the server issue likely is worse on Gilg , I can verify you still have to do the 1017 dance on Exodus.
Maybe fairie and a couple are better but its not just Gilg you have to spill chicken blood to login to.

i know this doesnt make sense but are ps3 users generally unaffected by most of these problems? ive only see a handful of servers locked out. in fact last night i made a toon on all of the server but the 4 that were locked (to save my name and a slot in case i move.) I havent been locked out of faerie the entire time and no q. i may just be logging in at the right times but my other friends on ps3 who have been poopsocking had had zero problems besides downtime maintenance.
For those folks who have a hard time finding some Hunting Log mobs this is a great database for all logs in the game.
