I disagree on pretty much every social opinion I've heard from asmon, but he tends to be closer to right than not about video games. Most people are a mixed bag of right and wrong. A broken clock is right twice a day and whatever. I think I've only ever watched one of his videos in full, though, so I very well may have misjudged him.

I know nothing about what is required to design/build a game or the companies that do it. But I know one thing. If it turns out to be like the other things Elon has done he will hire some qualified people and get shit done. He's not afraid of hiring qualified people and letting them do their thing.

He would have to pay salaries competitive not just with gaming, but with every other industry that uses those same skillsets.
If he wants an AI-driven game company, he has to pay competitive with OpenAI and Anthropic. And they have to actually know shit about games, otherwise it'd just be a slop factory like every other AI product. It is very hard to just toss money at gaming and make anything remotely good, many very large companies have failed.
I am much more interested in what small indie devs do using AI tools as force-multipliers than a game using AI generated content at this point. Most of the games produced in this method will still be bad but I'm sure a few of them will be good.

People in here talking as if Elon's going to theorycraft, design, and code his own game is lulz.
The problem modern games have is two-fold: hiring qualified people and getting out of their way. There used to be a lot of great games bc studios followed this simple formula. In fact we got some of the greatest games of all time back in the late 90's and early 2000's, bc of this very formula.

When I am working I make consierably more than the average for my industry and for the region for that matter. But I get stuff done in a fraction of the time. It kind of works that way when you pay people not based on a spreadsheet.
I don't think it would be very long jump to guess that a lot of that people building and designing rockets for musk and even cars get more shit done per time frame than a lot of other companies. They may make more, but I bet the get more real work done per time unit. Pretty sure they don't have DEI class day all that often and instead are getting work done that day.
I was offered Project Coordinator job on some new project they were building in Bastrop that Musk is doing. I couldn't take it but it would have been interesting to see how the interaction would have gone between the subs and anyone actually working for Musk since the job is all traffic control for RFI's in both directions.

Turns out there are not a lot of qualified people going around in the gaming industry, and people get chewed out and leave for a more stable job. The industry also has a tendency to blacklist critics or "problem" people, so it has become a cult of yes-men and -women. It was this way before DEI, SBI or the blue hair infestation.
There was a scathing commentary about the state of developing games from one of the Kingdom Come: Deliverance developers, which I can't find anymore. Basically he said: We still don't know how to make games in an efficient way, and project management and production of video games is currently fucked up beyond belief. The metric inside the gaming industry for hiring experienced people seems to be "was once part of a team that actually shipped a game to customers". And if you ask people who worked at those studios what they did, the answer is "i did this and maybe that", and its laughably little for six months of work. Turns out they had to do, redo and then redo again to make someone else happy, and more than half their work in the six months was scrapped because goals changed or features/content were axed.

That's unfortunate. Indiana Jones was always my favorite thing growing up and there's a lot about the game that looks right but if they had any confidence they would release reviews.

They pulled back most of the combat features and went full fledged into the puzzle adventure aspect of it. It's an indy game wrapped up in AAA wrapping. Sort of like Golem. With it being Indiana Jones - Im sure there is a Tranny somewhere in the background, but the game itself doesnt look like it will appeal to that big of an audience.
Musk seems like someone obsessed with minimalist and cleanliness. Did Asmon cleaned his place?Asmongold is going to end up being the Senior Creative Director at Elon's new gaming company.

Actually, yes, he did. His room is still cluttered, but it doesnt have mountains of trash in it last I saw, anymore. The roll off truck he had came in and got a bunch of the shit on the main level out, too. With most of the "stuff" downstairs that remains being boxes full of shit for other people.
When he got banned for calling out the hypocritical shit of Israel and all of that cluster fuck - thats when he took the time to clean up.
