Jesus fuck... you could give the whole plot of the movie away and it would still be hated. Confusion isn't the issue and if she can't see that then she's just as dumb as the people who 'green' lit it.

Love the whole "you don't like it because of misogyny!" narrative. My favorite movie characters are almostallwomen. Ellen Ripley, Beatrix Kiddo, Furiosa, Rita, Clarice Starling, Lisbeth Salander, Shosanna, etc.

This trailer has 9 trillion dislikes because it's a pointless remake of one of the most beloved films ever made and it looks likefucking garbage.

"AW HELL NAW!"
"Ya'll are good at this science stuff, but I know da streetz!"

I don't know what they expect? Are people really that ignorant or are they just willing to overlook its because they think they'll make money? Maybe the writers, producers, directors, etc. are just that arrogant?

There's just no way people are going to receive this well going in or do I think they'll give it much of a chance even as a rental. As others have said, this is a truly beloved movie and is representative of an entire decade of movies. If you think of movies in the 80's Ghostbusters really comes to many people's minds as a defining style of that time.

I know people talk about Murray and Akroyd, they're no doubt a major part of the movie but when Harold Ramis passed away, that was breaking point. He was the mind behind the movie and honestly his character is a big part of the tone of the movie. Rick Moranis is pretty well retired to my understanding as well.

Ghostbusters is just too deeply rooted in a time, the actors, and the audience. They could have possibly passed the torch but without the originals all in tact to ride off into the sunset, you just can't start all over and put a half-baked trailer in front of everyone. Melissa McCarthy has already expressed her concern with the trailer. She said it confusing an didn't represent the story accurately. She either trying to save face or being honest. If she's being honest than it further proves that the wrong person is making the decisions.

I was watching ScreenJunkies on Youtube a few months ago and they had a show called Summer Blockbuster fight, where they pitted what they felt as the top 16 summer blockbusters in a bracket and had three movie critics arguing for which movie would beat which other movie and why.

The final two blockbusters were the original Star Wars and Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters won as the best definitive summer blockbuster.

I have no idea why they decided to remake this movie but it would be the same as them trying to remake Star Wars or Raiders of the Lost Ark. You can have squeals or prequels etc but you cannot remake the movie, it's just not going to fly with people. They are just too iconic and cannot be remade at the present time.

It would have been much better as a passing the torch movie and sequel than an actual remake.

I feel better about this reboot more than others though. Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarty are funny in their own right. To compare to another reboot, I'd take this over what Michael Bay did with Transformers and Ninja Turtles (based on trailers and reviews. Never saw it though and hopefully never will).

The trailer was poorly framed, and I probably won't be seeing this in theaters unless people really rave about it. But there's enough there to at least garner a rental in a few months.

Not gunna lie. Calling the jokes subtle is funnier than anything in the trailer. Even funnier than THE POWER OF PATTY COMPELS YOU
This comment rustled furry so furiously that after a month and a half of trying to get over it, he finally had to neg me. I wish I could troll like that on purpose.

Disagree.

There have been plenty of pointless remakes of beloved films in the last few years alone that haven't received a fraction of the hazing GB has (Total Recall and Robocop come immediately to mind). Now I'm not saying "misogyny" (tm) is the reason for all this flak, but it almost certainly is anti-SJW sentiment run amok. People see a girlified Ghostbusters remake and they think SJWs are trying to ruin their lives by destroying what they hold dear and forcing a "girl power" agenda down their throat. It's a knee-jerk reaction from people whose primary source of entertainment is being outraged about SJWs.

Don't get me wrong: The movie looks pretty lousy. But it didn't become the most disliked trailer on YouTube just for looking lousy. It's just more silly "us vs them" shenanigans from people who believe they're taking a stand against a perceived enemy.

If you think Robocop and/or Total Recall are as beloved as Ghostbusters, OR that the trailer for either of those remakes looked even half as dogshit as the one for this one does, I don't know what to tell you.

You're literally the dumbest fucking cunt ever to post on this forum.

That trailer would be getting even more hate if this film wasn't billed as a "feminist" remake. It's blatantly racist.

the remakes of total recall and robocop got PLENTY of flack. it's just that no one really cared about total recall (the new one). they hardly did any advertising, from what i remember. and robocop had a lot of wishful thinking with michael keaton being in it. but those films got flack almost exclusively for hollywood being uncreative. girlfriend ghostbusters is getting flack because it's hollywood is OBVIOUSLY uncreative on top of genderbending like they think we think it's cool. not gonna lie, if i saw these girls at a comic-con, id' be like "oh you guys are great!!" it's a fun idea. it doesn't go past that.

That trailer is easily one of the worst movie trailers I've ever seen in my life. I hope whoever made it has a backup career because I doubt they'll be getting much work in the film industry for a while.

That dog turd is going to cost them literally tens of millions of dollars.

People are acting like the original was the greatest movie of all time but it really wasn't.

Really my point is who fucking cares, it's not like they're remaking Scarface with Jason Statham as Tony Montana or the Goonies with Hannah Montana.

Yeah even watching how they did the FX for the original back then is pretty entertaining. The CGI in the new movie looks terrible and very basic
