Made me chuckle because I read it at the same time I read the people talking about it being beloved because they saw it as kids.Kids never had taste.
i disagree, beverly hills cop came out the same year, NL Vacation came out the year before (another ramis classic). The original had a big impact because improv comedy movies kind of fell by the wayside for a while, especially post Belushi death. Seeing most of the core braintrust of the early National Lampoon days riffing with each other (in a manner not really seen since Animal House or maybe Caddyshack) made it stand out in the midst of a ton of sub par 80s cheese comedies that no one even remembers anymore.
he new take keeps the story in a period setting and offers a fresh view on the characters. Set six years after the original Rocketeer and after Secord has vanished while fighting the Nazis, an unlikely new hero emerges: a young African-American female pilot, who takes up the mantle of Rocketeer in an attempt to stop an ambitious and corrupt rocket scientist from stealing jet-pack technology in what could prove to be a turning point in the Cold War.
I do, but they involve Jennifer Connelly and some lotion. I don't care about the rest of the movie one bit.Does anyone have precious Rocketeer memories?
thats fine, i saw it on cable, wasnt impressedThey're not done, Ghostbusters 2 was just starting a new trend.
Disney Movie Reboot in the Works (Exclusive) - Hollywood Reporter
I have a vague memory of the advertising for that movie being interesting but the actual movie being completely forgettable.Does anyone have precious Rocketeer memories?
True, the original was barely average, but they could have just made another fucking movie entirely and STOP USING EXISTING IP SHIT TO ARTIFICIALLY BOOST WHATEVER-THE-FUCK GODDAMMIT HOLLYWOOD.I have a vague memory of the advertising for that movie being interesting but the actual movie being completely forgettable.
Nobody will care if they make the new Rocketeer black and female.
