Lleauaric links video of Martha Stewart to prove organic tastes better. No need to even do research to call him a faggot.
It's a shame you didn't read the whole thing. Martha Stewart was only one of the people there, also there were Jose Andres, Thomas Keller, and a few other of the best chefs in the country. You seem to be in the habit of making decisions based on incomplete information, so it's not really surprising.

They make some really good points about how organic is more than an arbitrary label, organic is about seeking out food sources that are grown or raised in as close to natural conditions as possible, and how this food does indeed taste better.

But shit, what does Thomas Keller know about taste?

You seem very upset tho, perhaps a nice organic smoothie would settle you down.

Those crops you are talking about have been artificially modified for millennium by humans. I don't know how you can grow then "close to natural conditions"

Edit - how many of those chefs in those videos have PhDs and have conducted decade long research studies to show the adverse effects of consuming genetically modified food over "organic"?

How many of those chefs have conducted scientific trials on organic vs non-organic food taste? Sorry, anecdotal information means shit.

Who gives a shit, we might not get cancer from GMO but we don't properly know how to produce it without fucking everything around, GMO are needed for third world country or people who don't care about what they eat ? Great give it to them I don't care but keep that shit away from me because I was eating fine without it and it's not because some corporation telling me "other will die if you don't eat it" that I will embrase it.
I support science working on GMO for whatever shit they might need with it but don't force it down my throat BECAUSE I DONT FUCKING WANT IT.

Seriously though. No advocate of GMO is saying organic should be banned. On the other hand, you organic fearmongers are doing the best you can to get GMOs banned. So get fucked.

it's called a refractometer and you can see the nutritional density difference

Farmscape Tomatoes: Objectively Delicious | Farmscape Gardens

The opposition I would say shouldn't be scared of the idea so much as the actual applications that are made should be more transparent, because you should always be an informed consumer and also companies motivations are often different than peoples are. take golden rice for example that was a gene specifically selected for nutrition, so that's probably a good modification. However tomatoes and consumer goods the traits are often selected for their appearance and volumne or resistance to bugs or insecticide, so they can ultimatly sell more product. These genes are not selected on their benefit for humans on an individual level but on a macro level, which could easily hurt individual quality. having used a refractometer to compare them most store bought tomatoes are very poor in quality to the ones I grow myself, and yes the taste is definatly more complex when there's extra nutrients in them.

Jesus fuck, fanaskin stop editing posts. Did you read the study? They gave the rats roundup in addition to roundup ready food.

God damn it this is the second time someone has made this retarded argument. Grocery store tomatoes are bred (not GMO BTW) to survive mechanical harvesting and trucking. Whether or not "non-organic" pesticide was sprayed on them or not has nothing to do with the difference in flavor. OF COURSE garden grown tomatoes are better, they are a different breed of tomatoes that would not be practical to sell in supermarkets because they are too fragile. If you think that this is proof that organic food tastes better than "non-organic" then you are a stupid, dumb, dumbass.

And thanks for seeing that BP.

Its really common sense. Fresher tastes better. Its the whole point as to why I try to avoid industrial food and try to source as local as possible. That and I don't like Monsanto's business practices. Isn't that enough reason?

And its really not more expensive. Go to a farmers market, join a local ag Co-Op, go to a good local health food store.. ect.. Its not much more expensive, the only real draw back is convenience. But if you know what your going to need for the week and you try to cook with seasonal ingredients, its easy. Id say about 80% of my food comes from within 50 miles of where I live. A guy who I used to work with owns a small cattle farm, and I go to his farm a once a month and load up when he slaughterers a cow, pig or a lamb. Or I just go and buy some stuff from his freezer. Other places near me have cheap fresh eggs and there are enough active greenhouses to get whatever I want in any season.

I really dont care about organic. I care about local and fresh.
