I thought saw, was reviewed pretty highly. Certainly the best modern monster movie. Can you think of one better?

True, Pacific Rim was decent.
Guess I missed the Cloverfield hate. I loved how they dealt with the monster (slowly revealing it and the wonder of wtf it was) and it was pretty original I felt.

It was ok but the whole, going back to save the girl you want as your GF was just kind of stupid. Also the whole scene of them in the condo skyscrapper while he was rescuing her was rather unbelievable even in a giant monster movie.
