Podrick's scene in the brothel was goddamn hilarious, as was Bronn and Tyrion's reaction. With any luck, this leads to numerous jokes about Pod's massive cock.
Agreed, while of course we all wish there was more time spent on the more important characters, that scene was still money. If we could only get two hour episodes or something...

Dany has been so serious about her dragons, there's no way she just gives one away. She's gonna BURN THAT MOTHA FUCKA DOWN.

About Dany's Dragon: In a DnD campaign a long time ago, a friend of mine had a magic throwing dagger that could warp back into his hand at will. He sold it often!

About Jaime's hand: There are many wuxia movies where the hero get his hand chopped off and comes back even better than before!

Great episode, but I'm not sure if it was the right play to have Dany just be all "lol I sell u drogon." I seem to recall that in the book the slaver asked her for the dragon and that she really struggled with with the decision before realizing she could just kill it with fire. In the book, I really empathized with her at the moment, but in the show it makes her just look like she's been in control the whole time. I know she spoke Valyrian and did have a degree of control the whole time, but it seemed like the weight of the decision got to her.

Am I just remembering this wrong?

Or are they trying to give her a more bad-ass vibe on the show? Character development wise, I think I'd have a lot more respect for Dany's growth if she's in a bad situation and takes control of it Gordian Knot style as opposed to just walking in with a master plan. But I'm not sure if the show would then come across as cheesy or if it would portray real growth and maturity. I just wonder how it would have gone if she was obviously struggling with giving up Drogon and then you see a switch flip and then she gives the whole last dragon speech while dragon fire-raping the slavers.

you're not and it never made sense to me that she'd have such a problem with the decision. The slavemaster acceptign the idea that dragons are like dogs and can be controlled like them makes sense since he has such an opinion of humans, but it never made sense that Daenarys would have such an internal struggle to make the decision. Maybe she could have a struggle on how to pull it off. Really, I'm not upset that she doesn't get more time to bitch about her dragons.

The unsullied never made much sense to me anyway so I never scrutinized the details much.

i only agree with this on the fact once you get started you will not be able to stop yourself until all 5 books (at this time) are read and enjoyed. if you like to read, read the books and enjoy the fully fleshed out story.
This is a sensible point of view; with one caveat. If the television series was mediocre or poorly done, there would be every reason to read the books in order to enhance once's appreciation for the story, the story-line, and the generated intensity of the overall work. Because the show's producers have done (so far) such engaging work in its production, pre-knowledge as to the course of events detracts from full enjoyment of the show. It can still be enjoyed, but less so. If you have already read ahead, obviously you will still enjoy the show, but much less so than someone to whom everything will be new and shiny.

Dany is about to have 8000 trained killers and all in training killers from that city. She was careful in finding out just to what extent they would go to kill for her. She's going to take control of them and turn them on everyone in that city and get her dragon back.

Jorah and Barristan are doing the moral debate, but it's always been clear Dany doesn't approve of slavery.

About Dany letting go of a Dragon -

Why was she so adament about letting ONE go at most, yet couldn't care less that the demand was for the biggest one?

If she DOESN'T kill the slave trader and whoever else stands in her way once she owns the unsullied, I will be vastly disappointed. Why the fuck wouldn't you do that when they have no defenses now, and are clearly pieces of shit to begin with? They've set up that dude for us to hate him completely, with his 'westeros slut this, westeros whore that' talk that the slave sugarcoats in the translation. I'm waiting for the translator chick to tell Dany what he was really saying and her flip shit on him for it.

I'm about 99% sure Dany can understand what the dude is saying. Maybe I'm reading her facial expressions a bit too harsh but it looks like she's biting her tongue and holding off from ripping the dude's balls off and shoving them down his throat everytime he talks. Leads me to believe she'll let him babysit a dragon for a bit and then he's in for a brutal and harsh death.

finally got around to watching this episode. I can't believe they followed Jaimie's scene with that musical score, shit had me in tears while my wife was completely shocked.

There's no way she speaks the language. She probably knows he's talking shit but there's no way she knows he's calling her a slut, whore, yadda yadda.
