Guys Sir Sea is NOT a villain! Remember how she tried to stop Ned Starks execution!??
Im still wondering what the fuck happened to Ser Pounce. All of the bitching about characters like Gendry and no one is talking about the most beloved pet in Westeros?
But seriously there are so many plot-holes and logistical problems in this show, we get it, I think its just sadly a by-product of GRRM's material as a whole. HBO was probably kind of lukewarm on trying to tackle this series given how convoluted it is and how many different character arcs there are. But they deserve credit for condensing a lot of GRRM's shit and making a sort of hybrid with their own vision of how events unfold on-screen.
Think about how hard it must be to coherently keep this show in line when there is just so much lore you have to go in and use a scalpel to cut out the really bad spots (being careful not to cut out too much content, as It has the side effect of unintended consequences) yet still tell a narrative that makes sense from a viewer standpoint. The way they have converted the book material to screen is pretty much the standard of television. Think about all of the big moments, Neds execution, Blackwater Bay, Red Wedding, Tywins death, Purple Wedding, Oberyn vs Mountain, the list goes on and on, they fucking nailed it.
Now did they swing and miss on many things? Absolutely. But even when they passed GRRM and developed their own story they had some successes as well, such as Hardhome, Brienne vs Hound, Battle of the Bastards (!), Loot Train, etc. The show isnt THAT bad. Its just been 7 fucking years now and the bar was set extremely high so people want a quality payoff. I think HBO can give us one even if they have to fuck the dog on a few plot points along the way.
