Sir Sea is not a villeen, she is only doing it BECAUSE SHE LOVES HER CHILDREN- JUST THE SAME AS ANY OF US WOULD DO THE SAME THING IN HER SITUATION....RIGHT

Most of us who aren't from W VA don't fuck our brothers and sisters, so that situation would never have happened in the first place.

Is it just me or do the recent Dothraki look like really low-budget compared to the first season Dothraki? I mean the dudes themselves. Khal Drogo set the bar too high.

Karl lived a good life. When his time finally came, the old man in the sky took him away to a new life, where he was surrounded by the water. As he had once been able to communicate with horses, now he could talk to the fish.

Guys Sir Sea is NOT a villain! Remember how she tried to stop Ned Starks execution!??

Im still wondering what the fuck happened to Ser Pounce. All of the bitching about characters like Gendry and no one is talking about the most beloved pet in Westeros?

But seriously there are so many plot-holes and logistical problems in this show, we get it, I think its just sadly a by-product of GRRM's material as a whole. HBO was probably kind of lukewarm on trying to tackle this series given how convoluted it is and how many different character arcs there are. But they deserve credit for condensing a lot of GRRM's shit and making a sort of hybrid with their own vision of how events unfold on-screen.

Think about how hard it must be to coherently keep this show in line when there is just so much lore you have to go in and use a scalpel to cut out the really bad spots (being careful not to cut out too much content, as It has the side effect of unintended consequences) yet still tell a narrative that makes sense from a viewer standpoint. The way they have converted the book material to screen is pretty much the standard of television. Think about all of the big moments, Neds execution, Blackwater Bay, Red Wedding, Tywins death, Purple Wedding, Oberyn vs Mountain, the list goes on and on, they fucking nailed it.

Now did they swing and miss on many things? Absolutely. But even when they passed GRRM and developed their own story they had some successes as well, such as Hardhome, Brienne vs Hound, Battle of the Bastards (!), Loot Train, etc. The show isnt THAT bad. Its just been 7 fucking years now and the bar was set extremely high so people want a quality payoff. I think HBO can give us one even if they have to fuck the dog on a few plot points along the way.

.

D&D motivation to adapt the books was to do the Red Wedding, and S3 is probably around the time the show exploded.

Think back to S1 and how they skipped an entire battle sequence by knocking Tyrion out at the start. Budgets increased as the show got bigger

Yea they have mentioned the Red Wedding as an inspiration, as they wanted to do it on screen, and boy did they do it. I understand the show has evolved my point is a lot of people are complaining now saying the show is shit, but if you just sat back and watched a 2 hour highlight of all the awesome moments in this shows run, it would be some of the most impressive media entertainment in TV history.

It's almost like this is a fantasy television show based on a series of fantasy novels that take place in a fantasy world and NOT a historical documentary.

Yeah, anyone who calls this show "shit" and means it is a fucking idiot. Even with its minor problems, it's still the best show on television right now, and could arguably be placed among some of the greatest television shows of all time. Then again, 90% of the people in this community are lifeless, joyless husks of flesh with dead inner children who are incapable of enjoying anything.

The first 5 seasons sure. These last two? Lazy writing with a few "wow" moments.

If that's your idea of "best show on television right now," you're welcome to that opinion. I'd rather watch an episode of Friends.
