I believe the point of the exchange between Fish and Falcone regarding signing the papers was to show how na?ve and ill-prepared Fish really is to become the Don. She thinks Falcone stepping down and signing over his assets (money, businesses, etc., I assume) would make her the Don, but in fact it requires specific character traits and intelligence that she doesn't possess.

I also don't think it's a stretch that Falcone was fooled by Liza. After all, she wasn't just a "pretty girl," she was custom-made to play into every one of his weaknesses. And the fact that she genuinely liked him made it even easier for him to be fooled.

Yeah even my main man Austin Powers was seduced by the fembots. It happens to the best.

They seem to use Gordon as both the POV character but also as the universal straight man to contrast against the broadly over-the-top collective crazy that populates the city.
The unfortunate effect of that is that it makes him the most boring character on the show to watch.

To his credit, he at least figured out pretty quickly that it was Fish who took her and was willing to (eventually) believe Penguin.

He knew Fish is gunning for his chair so it made it pretty easy to add 2+2 together then take a leap of faith with Penguin who is always feeding him reliable information. I mean if they kidnapped Liza why on earth contact one of Falcone's underbosses to mediate a deal? That makes less than zero sense. Why would the underboss even mediate the deal?

I thought him killing her like that made more of an impact. Strangulation is a very personal way to kill someone.

Falcone had to choke a bitch, and it made him feel alive. So yeah, that was a nice and dark moment. Kind of nice to see a plot line wrapped up quick and neat like that in a comics series, too. They are definitely taking the lessons from Arrow to heart.

Well Fish is still alive. If they let her escape and do some gay shit I'll be pissed.

I have a feeling we will see a lot more of Fish Mooney instead of a lot less. She's gotten quite a bit of mainstream press as a kooky personality of Gotham that isn't based on an existing character. It also opens up the possibility of having an Eartha Kitt style Catwoman characterization in a different character so I wouldn't be surprised if Fish doesn't show up in comics before too long.

I admit I don't read any mainstream press about this show but there are people that actually like Fish's character? How?

i hope you arent implying she escapes then becomes catwoman and ultimately ends up taking selena under her wing.

When Penguin takes over that club, he should really think about installing some security cameras or maybe a lock on the front door. That place just constantly has people with murderous intent wandering in off the streets.

that was a pretty shit episode. the top hitrman crazy dude wont even kill a former henchman? this show is relying on this fish bitch and gordon is becoming annoying. even penguin is getting lame. so far the kids in this show are pretty much the best thing to happen this season.

Nah, Bullock and Alfred are still the best things, but Bullock is constantly paired with Gordon, and Alfred goes several episodes without more than a line or two...which proves your point more or less that the show is sucking, mostly because of cuntFish. I actually don't mind Gordon too much, but even I had to groan a little when he did yet another face-off in the station to show us him "cleaning up the precinct". I want him to be there to make Bullock sigh and mumble a funny comment, and to make out with the Courtesan, and if he solves a case every episode that's fine too, I don't hate him. But enough of forcing his righteousness down our throats. We get it.

I hated Fish's torture, and how haughty and "stoic" she was, and I knew she was going to fucking get out (we all did I'm sure) and it made me mad just waiting for it. I can already guess that she'll come back for the season finale or some dramatic shit, with the producers thinking we'll be all gasping in surprise, when all we really do is groan over yet another season of that cunt. Did I mention I hate her?

I would watch the Alfred and Bullock show in a heartbeat.

Oh, and I sort of feel bad for Nigma :/ Guy just wants some lovin'!

you're right, alfred is good stuff, dude needs a bit more screen time. but Bullock, while i did like his role earlier and i have been a fan of the actor since that 90s sitcom he had. they are making him too much gordon's muscle/goto guy. earlier in the season he was great, he had lots of good lines and an interesting backstory with his old partner dan hedaya. now, meh, he just seems to be waiting around for gordon to activate him.

Weak episode and that's probably being too kind. The Fish 'torture' and escape was about as lame as it gets. The writing overall is just not very good. It's theoretically a comic book show but it's trying really hard not to be and not to it's benefit. Next couple of episodes looks like another small time baddie that Gordon gets to take down. Zzzzz

Is it Scarecrow? Never mind then. I still question whether they'll do the character any justice. We'll see.
Supposedly, this will be dealing with Jonathan Crane's father, but still, only two episodes for Scarecrow? I really question the rate they're going through villains. By the end of the season, they'll easily have includedat leasthalf of Batman's most notable adversaries. WithDollmaker,Red Hood,Mr. Freezestill to come this season, I can't imagine them being left with much to work with after the second season. Like Penguin, they should've built longer, more in-depth stories about Batman's villain's backstories rather than using most of them as monster-of-the-week fodder.

Tommy Elliot/Hush is one of the best examples of this, I think. Considering he's supposed to be one of Bruce's best childhood friends, they easily could've built a storyline around their friendship Tommy's increasing jealous of Bruce's inheritance, leading him to become a bad influence who starts pulling Bruce down a dark path. He'd make a much better part of Bruce's story than Little Orphan Ivy.

This was about the most predictable episode I've ever watched. Going into this episode the one and only thing I didn't want to happen was Fish escaping but, honestly, everyone knew it was going to happen. Why is security so fucking relaxed in these places? Fish's muscle just waltzes into the torture room with Splinter Cell like quiet. Fish walks back into her club with no one posted one day after Penguin just walked in.

This show is starting to become very old very fast. Even my wife is starting to get bored since she was just dicking off on her phone most of the episode. Since she forces me to watch this steaming pile once she decides she doesn't want anymore then I'm out as well.

the best moment of this episode was Jar Jar err Fish saying she was leaving town to lay low for a while. i mean it kinda worked for Barbara, she left and outside of a few on screen tantrums she visited her parents and we heard nary a word from her this week. what i want to know is, has Marone not heard that Penguin is now part of the Falcone family? wouldnt it be more likely that he would be the first one to try to kill penguin instead of stupid fucking Jar..... err Fish?? and does Gordon have amnesia? this week he scolds floss/vloss that he is crooked and doesnt belong in this precinct when just about every week he uncovers corruption in the department and he is still shocked it goes on. gordon himself rather than do any by the book police work bumrushes a dude, searches a car for info. he pockets evidence from a crime scene and even goes to the mob for info for his case. he needs to arrest himself. fucking asshole.
