Well, in Gordon's defense, all he did was treat Penguin as a CI and ask him to see if he could gather any useful intel on the case. He had no idea Penguin would have his henchman torture a confession out of anyone.

As for the drugs that were in the dead guy's shoe, pretty sure he did log it as evidence, since he had no reason not to and did mention it after he finds the same type of drugs in the dirty cop's trunk. I think it looking like he was pocketing evidence may have been just shitty editing/writing.

info for gordon to follow up on is one thing. handing gordon a confession on cassette and a murder weapon without verification is another. i dunno what detective shows you watch, but in tv show logic, you find evidence at a crime scene and you use your hands pick it up to stick it in your pocket then not alert anyone what you found is not part of the procedure. even if you tell people later on, "hey guys look what i found at that murder scene , its evidence i swear, i just didnt tell anyone!" they will probably not believe you. lastly searching the dude's trunk even using gotham police logic was a nono, as pointed at by the chief. its bad writing yeah, writing that makes gordon look like a hypocrite.

What I'm hoping for at this point is a terminus to Barbara's character in the "trying to redeem herself she gets herself killed protecting Jim" which then sets up why he'd name his first daughter after her.

You do realize that Barbara marries Gordon and their daughter is named Barbara right?

Zazz or whatever should have shot her henchmen and then at the end during the bullock scene he should have done what he thought Jim did to penguin and execute her on the docks for falcone. That would have been 100x a better episode.

You mean shit actually happening would be better than absolutely nothing happening? I agree.

Batgirl/Barbara Gordon is adopted. James Gordon's niece.

Barbara Gordon the wife, has a son, with James Gordon, James Gordon Jr. who is a serial killer.

Black Canary has some real. lol what? with her mom.
Dinah Drake is the first black canary. Has a kid with Larry Lance.
Name their daughter Dinah Laurel Lance. the daughter is cursed with the canary cry, and put into a coma.
the mother is stricken with radiation poisoning. and then is given the daughters body when she turns 18.
ps. Neither black canarys are actually blonde. its a wig. she has short black hair.

Hawkwoman and man also are up there with wtf.

Nah I am just old school on my Batgirl.. I never realized they changed her status. She was originally his daughter.

yes thats how adoption works
Barbara Gordon debuted in Detective Comics #359 (January 1967) as the daughter of Commissioner Jim Gordon, and also the newest addition to Batman's crime-fighting family. Batgirl then gained pop culture icon status when she debuted in the third season premiere of "Batman" on September 14th, 1967. Here, too, she was Commissioner Gordon's daughter. This remained true until the 1985 reboot, Crisis on Infinite Earths , where her origin changed.

Whats the comic book storyline that explores this? I'm interested to read it.
its reoccuring.

But Batman:Year one is the first appearance/main I believe.
detective comics 871-881 is where hes established as a psychopath. (could have sworn it was older then that)
DC 871 is "the black mirror" nov 2010.

nu52Batgirl has also dealt with it.

Ah ok I wasn't sure if there was a definitive series like Long Halloween for Dent but for that storyline. I only watched Year One and didn't read it but I don't recall that storyline but it has also been a while.

i think year one just established that Gordon has a son.
its the "current" timeline stuff, with JR now grown up, that deals with and establishes him as a pscho.
the detective comics run there noted. 871-881.

Gotya. I knew he had a son but mainly from the Batman Begins movie. I'll check out those comics, thanks.

I think I'm done with this show. It's asking to accept stupid shit way too often.

I can suspend disbelief, accept a few plot holes here and there if they're not too obvious and make for compelling storytelling. This show though is getting to the point where you have to suspend disbelief and accept plot holes for every single plot-lines.

It's just too much, and the pay-off is just not there, the show is just very average.

The show should be about how Alfred fucks up raising Bruce and is the main reason he becomes a crazy obsessed dude who dresses as a bat.

Alfred is just awesome in this show.

I will say I'm liking how they're building up Nigma's character. They're really setting you up for feeling bad for what he'll eventually become because the jocks and bullies were so harsh on him.

there needs to be a scene where Bruce walks in on Alfred dressed in some BSDM gear, with some young boy. all black, with some yellow trim.

Batgirl/Barbara Gordon is adopted. James Gordon's niece.
Flashpoint/New 52 has reverted Barbara Gordon back to being Jim's biological daughter, which I'd assume the show would have to follow. (She's also no longer left permanently paralyzed after Joker shoots her in the back.)

its the "current" timeline stuff, with JR now grown up, that deals with and establishes him as a pscho.
And now seeing what his mother is like, this development is a lot more understandable.

Yeah Nygma is really quite sympathetic so far. I almost feel sad that we probably will never get to see him go full on Riddler in the context of the show.
