Not to mention, I am certain that even the lowest IQ viewers knew exactly what she was going to do in her "big scene" too.

I honestly can't think of a character on television that I hate more than her right now, or in the recent past.

wow that last episode went retarded.
making scarecrow a bit sympathetic due to crazy dad is a weird choice. Also we are supposed to believe he gets as doctorate somehow after this?

"dont you want to see more twisted villain sexual relationships"
That is a weird dude.
Although, I have wondered if Kringle will be a proto Echo/Query though. This show doesn't seem to be making too much effort to get real deepest lore though.

Nightclub has been a tease for the Iceburg Lounge all along.. but still not there yet.

I also can not understand "he'll get help from Ras for his fear toxin". dude really? Movie canon is his first rung. so strange.

There is no way Morena lives past this season.

Shame too because she's way hotter after growing her damn hair back.

its like there are 2 factions of this show, the people who are keeping the fish flags flying and the rest who have moved on. they have made Penguin the owner of his own club erasing everything fish had, he has a new enemy in don marone. this is the way it was intended. but then we have the other faction who just wont let fucking go. now we need to see how fish is a real badass we should care about. guys i dont fucking care about her. i never did. she is terrible. making her the boss of some pirate prison wont change that. they had no problem chucking barbara off this show and she is a comic book character, why they keep this bitch who is not part of the DCU i have no idea.
They won't get rid of Fish because she is, quite literally, the only character on the show who is in any danger of dying. No matter what happens to characters like Penguin, Gordon, Bullock, Bruce, Alfred, etc., we know they'll make it out alright because we know they live to become their future selves. For example, during last week's episode when Penguin was about to get crushed in the car, did anyone really think he would actually die? Not only is he a major character, but we know he lives to become the famous Batman villain. The entire scene was weak, and that's one of the biggest flaws (imo) with this show as a whole.

So Fish is going to stay around just to add some drama to the show, otherwise we're basically reading a book that we've already read the final chapter of.

They can retcon what they choose but his father did have a doctorate degree. It could just be he takes over his dad's identity or something.

I've gone over how that is already a very weak part of the entire show. We know Penguin becomes successful. We know Fish doesn't outlast the mob bosses. We know Nigma goes crazy and becomes a villain. We know Gordon doesn't last with Firefly chick and marries Barbara. It makes the entire show about the journey and not the destination but everything about the show is so weak I don't care about the journey.

a fair number of DC characters have already been killed off in Flash and Arrow. this is a separate DC universe. just because somebody becomes something in one version doesnt mean the events will happen that way in another. they are already making changes to the characters in this show. i would not rule out they are all unkillable. though that depends entirely on the deal Fox has with WB.

I kind of hope that they do kill some people off unexpectedly. Would certainly make for a more interesting show. Or at least some of the lesser known storylines. Like I guess it is completely possible Fish kills Falcone and takes over the city. I don't think your average passing Batman fan (in terms of I know Batman, Robin and the movie villains) even really know who the mob bosses are and how important they are to a majority of the storylines. I guess Marone was in Batman Begins. Can't recall if the families were in the other movies there.

They're not going to kill off any of the major Batman characters on Gotham. If they do, feel free to quote this post, gloat, and publicly shame me.

The comparison to Flash and Arrow is faulty for two reasons: 1) DC is super protective of Batman and Superman stuff as opposed to Flash and Arrow, who are minor characters/worlds in comparison. 2) The Flash/Arrow characters and world are much less well-known popularly, so they have a lot more freedom to kill off characters without viewers going "wtf they just killed soandso, how can he become super_villain_01 in the future?!"

I remember all throughout Boardwalk Empire's run there were people on here saying they might break from history and kill off some of the famous, real people such as Capone or Luciano. That was just as ridiculous as thinking they'll kill of Penguin, Bruce, Selina, etc. on Gotham.

Cameron Monaghan is the kid they tapped to play The Joker and from what I can tell he has some talent from his work on Shameless and other roles.
That's actually great casting in my opinion. I've always felt he's one of the stronger actors on Shameless, and he's already done unhinged on that show quite well. I'm still a little disappointed that they're going to get into the Joker this soon. This week's episode already felt like it was juggling too many storylines (Bruce going camping, Penguin setting up his club, Fish being Fish, Scarecrow, Jim's romance, etc.), and Joker is really the sort of character they should be approaching similarly to Penguin. If they're going to do Joker, he should be a character that we get to see develop and not someone that's dropped into a couple episodes like Scarecrow and Two-Face.

wow that last episode went retarded.

It's also sort of weird since they basically co-opted part of Batman's origin. Bruce Wayne chooses the bat as his symbol because it represents his biggest fear... and now Jonathan Crane chooses the scarecrow image because that'shisbiggest fear (because reasons).

Jesus, I'd rather watch Bruce wrangle with the board of Wayne Enterprises than any of Fish's bullshit.

If that kid is supposed to be who I think he's supposed to be (I don't remember if anything was linked about it before or not), I have to say I'm impressed with the facial expressions and mannerisms. He nailed it pretty well.

Oh yeah... That's him alright. Quite impressive and note we don't see what becomes of him. Of course it looks like we get the Red Hood for at least an episode coming up.qqw

I thought overall this was one of the better episodes of the series. The Fish scenes were still unbearable, though.

when fish was running the nightclub we saw her less. now that she is a nobody she is on for half the show every week. outside of her trainwreck storyline, this was a decent episode. that guy fucking nailed ledger's joker. the love triangle with gordon is somewhat lame though.

haha yeah.

I've gone back and forth on her. At the start, mary sue original character seemed bizarre to have so much focus on her. its like Chloe from Smallville. you made your original character the MAIN character for a beloved franchise. why do people keep doing that?
That said, I think she did work well, and it was going well overall.
Last few episodes however. seriously, she should be out of the picture right now. why the fuck are we STILL focusing on her? Is Gotham about her rise to power? Its bizarre. it would have made way more sense to have her off the show for a while, and come back. Like Arrow does with Merlin, etc.

Fish was probably created to get fed to Cobblepot. Either she demanded more screen time, or they just like her, or they think the audience does, aka Jesse in Breaking bad not dieing.
I don't mind if she stays around, but seriously, stop making her the main character.
