I'ma pick up the turkey Wednesday at noon, and put it in the cooler covered with ice. Then, Thursday afternoon, I'll put it in the brine and refrigerate. Saturday morning the cooking will start. Sounds like a plan.

Doing Gordon Ramsay's duck recipe. Always delicious. Leaves me with nice duck fat for fries and potatoes later.

Also making sausage apple dressing and four kinds of potatoes (mashed, roasted, fried, and twice baked).

Apple, pumpkin, and blueberry pies, too.

Other stuff, too. I am excite.

Brine bag and it fits on the bottom shelf Barrocobro.

Don't even have to move too much stuff and I have a small apartment fridge.

I just keep it in a bucket out in the cold garage. Dump all the ice out of the icemaker into the bucket, stays plenty cold for 2 days usually. If not, add more ice the next day. Helps that I live in a colder climate obviously.

If it was unseasonably warm I suppose I could make room in the beer fridge (kegarator).

One of the places I do some work at has a totally empty fridge. That's where it goes. It's glorious. I have unlimited access to six fridges and five ovens, all within five miles. It's glorious.

One of the best bags for brining would be the super large ziploc bags reserved for toys n things. Ziploc has stated that it's food safe (and lots of ppl use it for brining) since it's really super thick and won't leak.

Thanks for asking about Ziploc? brand Big Bags. I'm happy to share you may use this big bag to brine your turkey, as it's approved for use in food preparation. However, it's not recommended to be used in an oven or microwave.
I've always used my 6qt pressure cooker, just enough to fit a 20lb turkey (the leg tips do stick out).

AB has said you can place the turkey in a brine, in a clean bucket in a cool garage like place. I err on the side of caution and just put it in the fridge.

if you want baggies, for quick vac, i use the ziploc (sous vide safe)

the pump is nice, easy to clean and disassemble if you suck up a bit of juice. The bags last, almost at random, i have one bag that i swore i've reused 20x, and new bags only have 1 use.

^ That's the one I got from BJs. It does what it's supposed to. The little accessory sealer is pretty cool as well, if you have containers or the ziplock foodsaver bags.
