My Chinese mother in-law makes baby back ribs similar - she just used normal bbq sauce with a ton of minced garlic, but they are great.

For her “Asian” ribs- they are the cut on the bone ribs, small chunks… like a square with meat wrapped around a little bone chunk… i dont know what the official name for the cut of rib is- this style she makes with Asian sauce and stuff, they also are great.

I have done two bones cut from a baby back rack in the past. I was testing out doing the Chinese barbecue ribs on the grill. Never good but I couldn't get the same result so used to. It was still pretty tasty. I've seen some other recipes where they don't get grilled but they get boiled and then shallow fried in a wok and then dipped in sauce or something.

Yeah wok fried is a thing with the little ribs… short ribs? But sadly, she never was big on wok cooking…

I have made baby back ribs where you boil then grill, my mom taught me that. Most non-smoker restaurants do that.

lol i guess, its more of that cut of rib.. dunno what it is called- but rarely i find that cut in non Asian market- so when we goto the big ol “Asian Publix” we get them so she can make it… and duck, that’s cooked there so that’s lunch :)

And i always buy some random Asian drink - usually lychee - most of the drinks are japan stuff

Out of curiosity do the sous viders here use reusable silicone bags or disposable vacuum bags?
I haven't done sous vide in a while, but it was always either disposable vacuum bags, or just big Ziploc freezer bags.

I didn't realize I had silicone bags out there now, but those make sense I'm sure they work fine.

I also don't bother anymore because it's basically easier to get similar outcomes on my pellet smoker, but also used vacuum bags. Usually just used the roll that you cut and make to size.

i had yt playing in the background and it was food channel in okinawa market, and he was breaking down a lobster and i heard static

thats weird wheres it coming from

then i rewind the video, and its the same sound...

i'm like da fuq? the lobster is making this static electricity sound?

now i've seen my dad butcher lobsters in almost the same way (cantonese style is to rip the head off), maybe 100 lobsters when i was younger (he still kept on cooking lobster, i just lost interest in watching him break it down)

never heard this

Stab it right between the eyes through the forehead, and immediately cut down towards the beak. Do that and you won't hear anything.

It's probably why your people eat dogs.

It's not difficult to clean a lobster. Spiny lobster is extremely tasty though, and I wish I had access to harvest them. I know they're an invasive species in Florida, and you can go out and collect a whole bunch of them till your heart's content.

I'm also sure that if the two of us got together, we could prepare it a feast. Maybe one day if there's another FOH get together, it'll give us a chance to collaborate...😉

I remember once some PETA people went to San Francisco's Chinatown and were protesting the seafood markets where they were cutting up fish while they were still alive. It was amazing how neither the store owners or the customers gave the slightest of fucks about those PETA retards.

I still remember this as a kid, back in Poland, my grandpa got some live fish for Christmas eve. He let them all go in his bathtub. Dont know how they survived, but they did. Anyway he proceeded to kill them, but not like anyone I know would by a quick blow to the head, no, he tried to cut their heads off with a butcher knife. Holy shit, so much blood everywhere, it was fucking crazy! A memory I will never forget. Needless to say no one ate fish that Christmas. The great Christmas massacre.
