Just got out of an advance screening with my friend. Both liked it, its very dark though so maybe not for kids under 10? I dunno read up on the animal stuff and use your own judgement there. Adam Warlock was okay, music choices were good, Drax is a lil overplayed. Pratt really shined in this one though, as did Cosmo. High Evolutionary was very well acted and could have been very one note but Chukwudi Iwuji played it very well so the character become much more.
Guardians lineup in the spoiler below (you knew it was coming, Bautista is retiring from the character and it was well publicized), I wont spoil any more then that but I am sure it s on wiki already or something.
Adam Warlock (so room for improvement to build off the performance here)
Rocket
Groot
Phyla Vell
Cosmo
Kragan
or the money truck shows up at their house. but the way these projections are tracking downwards, you are probably right. none of these guys will be coming back.

I mean Bautista has been hugely vocal he wants to be done with Drax and apparently Zoe Saldana was supposed to die in GotG2 according to Gunn. The Russos wanted her to die in Infinity War so he put that off and she signed another 3 movie contract. Not sure her fate in 3, but she's sick of being locked in these movie sagas. Especially since she's still locked up for like 5 more years doing Avatar.
Noone has posted spoilers without tags. If you had paid attention at all you would know there is no more Drax or Gamora after this film, the actors are done, and they are too "big" to recast and continue with. I posted the end of the film lineup in a spoiler tag, without context as to why its the lineup, if you spoiled it beyond what was in my post thats on you. And yea the warning about the animal stuff is legit, a local Sarasota reviewer brought their 8 year old who started to cry in my showing, so maybe don't blindly bring small children, it gets fucking dark.
I don't feel like there's any 'omg, avoid spoilers' type of stuff in Vol. 3. It's a good movie, but not expecting to go out of my way to rewatch anything beyond the first movie in the trilogy now that they're done. It's all your standard 'how does their storyline play out' with a side of new stuff like Warlock.
Really wonder if anyone will pick up any of these pieces left over from the trilogy and use them in other projects.
Not great, not trash. I like the first one the most (watch it every once in a while), the second one I only watched once and this is one will be the same. Probably a little better than the second.
Adam Warlock was wasted. The usual one quest objective to the next, tonaly all over the place (dramatic scene or someone is dying, 3sec later pop hit #4532 is blasting), rushed editing as if Gunn was trying to gtfo asap to DC.
It's better than vol. 2. I will watch it again but damn it's so God damn Long.
I think every character shines and I expected to really hate Gamora but she was fine. Every character I think is better in it actually, Mantis was awesome and Nebula was more interesting that the other films.
I have no idea why the writers went that way with Adam Warlock? He wasnt terrible but when I think of the comics it's not the character I ever remember

I think Zoe Saldana's big reason for not wanting to do Gamora again was it was just too fucking much time in make up for 2 franchises that consume all her working hours. I could easily see her coming back to Gamora when Avatar is done and she can do some work where she isn't painted blue or green for a change.
Bautista is definitely done though, his wasnt just a make up issue, I think he also doesn't want to be in "marvel shape" any more, being that he is over 50 now

well that movie was not at all what I was expecting at all.
someone mentioned earlier and I agree, overall the move was fine, but I think it was rushed with some poor editing which diminishes the film. It ends up feeling long and the themes feel completely jumbled. its sometimes tear jerker drama sometimes comedy sometimes body horror sometimes gore porn.
I never saw slither or saw any of gunn's horror work, but the movie felt like if HP Lovecraft wrote a fucked up version of a dog's purpose, where it starts by you watching the dogs get tortured and die.
