There's no way that New York bill will ever pass. Yes, lets have the police raid the homes of mentally ill gun owners at the discretion of their physician. Nothing bad can possibly come from that. I wouldn't want to be the first cop through the door on any of those raids, nor would I want to be the physician. Not at home and the cops raid your house? First stop is the doctor's office before jail.
Passed 43-18 and 95% of those who voted for it have no clue what is in it.
Not sure if it made the final bill but in a previous version earlier tonight you had till summer to register all guns and failure to do so was a 25 year max felony.

Pretty much the only thing it doesn't ban in one way or the other is a bolt action rifle (with a blind box as long as it doesn't have a detachable magazine) and revolvers. Everything else is hit in some way or the other including semi auto and pump shotguns. Pretty much from the list nothing semi auto will pass the requirements they have listed.
New York State banned firearms that the federal government sells thru the CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) to citizens...
Example of a turkey hunting shotgun - now banned in the state of New York.
