Probably not. Lone Star is a Community College with campuses all around the greater Houston area. Some friends that went there I spoke with said without knowing anything else that they figure it was probably drug related.
Like most universities they do have a dedicated campus police force that patrols the school.

Is your latest statistic supposed to impress me? UK almost had twice the rate in knife crime per capita than the US had in gun crime per capita in 2006. You're statistic doesn't prove anything other than 50% of murders in the US involve a firearm.
yes..and if we wish to reduce murders in the U.S. it is worth discussing regulating the weapon used in over half the murders that take place.

Lol, as if big tobacco and cigarette smokers wouldn't use their own set of facts to reduce that 400k number to 0. Cigarettes don't cause cancer because derp de derp derp derp. Wake up sheeple its all lies perpetuated by the government so they can tax your cigarettes! Etc.

But you know what the real difference between those numbers is? Well, how about this: How many people have been convicted of Murder 1 by cigarette? Because yeah, killing someone on purpose puts things into a different category than deaths by accidents or unhealthy habits.

Now, secondhand smoke deaths ARE an issue. And that is being addressed, if slowly. Smokers forced to stand outside where they can't fill up a room with their poison aren't killing anyone but themselves.

Are you saying that there is a conspiracy between gun control advocates, the white house, and the media to create and reinforce a national narrative about gun violence?
The media controls and manipulates all those things, public opinion, advocates in congress and senate and yes ultimatly who gets in the white house.

who owns the media.

How did you miss the entire point? Banning guns doesn't make one safer. The weapon of choice doesn't mean anything.

Look at cities with the strictest gun control in the US. They're not even curbing firearm related homicide.

Almost 50,000 people died of second hand smoke last year. Point still valid.

Clearly we should arm our military with cartons of PallMalls.

Sigh, point was, no one -purposfully- murders anyone with cigarettes. If you are discussing MURDER, which is implied by the topic being "Gun control", then deaths by cigarettes are completely beside the point.

Incidentally, the homicide rate in the US is at a 50 year low. But that doesn't mean we can't continue to discuss ideas and pass laws to help make that number lower.

Is it murder when someone knowingly provides you poison, knowing what you are going to do with it?

Was it murder when white settlers provided smallpox blankets to Indians?

Im just asking questions.

death is death, its nearly cigarrete smoking is murder, by consent and deceit.

its not the tobacco that bothers me, its the approximatly 500 different poisons and toxins they add to cigarettes

Not according to our courts, anyway. You could argue that the tobacco industry is guilty of murder if you want, but then you'd have to do the same for foods with unhealthy amounts of cholesterol or sodium.

I'll just take the easy way out and say its not murder because the government says it isn't.

In who's eyes, the law ? If that's the case, then no. People do have rights, and those rights include engaging in risky behaviors like smoking or eating a heart-attack hamburger.

those are true too, though Id argue cholesterol is neccasary, you need it to make all your hormones and sodium has been propagandized, you NEED alot of sodium to balance electrolytes, instead they tell you to cut sodium and overload on electrolytes, it's literally making people sick and killing them.

This one does. Not saying that they have an overwhelming presence or anything, but they do have cops on campus.

This is Texas we're talking about here, not California. I see some holstered sidearms in that link.
Looks like only one of those security guards is tasked with that campus (as well as 3 other locations lol). Lone Star College (formerly North Harris Community College System) has like 8 campuses and apparently that location has gotten pretty bad in the past few years according to some friends I have down there.
