It's amazing how utterly retarded the anti-gun arguments are. The only thing they can come up with is "derr, if he had a knife he couldn't kill as many people!" and "just get rid of all guns so there will be no more gun violence!" Just utterly stupid.

Except all the statistical data showing that countires with staunch gun laws have far far less gun violence then countries without. Sorry that is "retarded" to you.

Liberty in regards to gun ownership? I'm willing to give up all of it. I don't personally give a shit about owning guns. I understand other people do, and that's fine. If you're someone who believes the 2nd amendment is worth the price of a higher rate of gun-related homicides, that's a totally legitimate opinion. All I'm doing is arguing against the stupid arguments put forth by both sides of this issue.

It's not a mystery why the gun-related homicide rate is so much higher in the US than it is in every other similarly developed country, and throwing even more guns at the problem by arming teachers and/or placing armed guards at schools is completely idiotic and counterproductive. At the same time, banning "assault weapons," implementing gun free zones, and regulating violent media are all equally idiotic and counterproductive.

Very unlikely Bitch. Thanks to all our fine republican governors and state legislators we will have a republican controlled house for the foreseeable future. You liberals might have the presidency, but republicans still have you by the balls.
It is just a matter of time. The GOP is just starting the understand what the Tea Baggers have given them with this dysfunctional Congress. If we go over the cliff, the time will be soon than later.

So that you don't have to break out of your Fox News bubble, I give you this little article from Faux.

Rep. LaTourette: Tea Party ?Chuckleheads? Are to Blame for ?Plan B? Tax Vote Being Canceled

Thursday night, Speaker of the House John Boehner canceled the vote on his ?Plan B? tax rate bill because it didn?t have enough support from fellow Republicans. The bill would have prevented tax hikes on all but those making more than $1 million a year.

Republican Rep. Steven LaTourette said that Boehner is not to blame for the stalemate, the Tea Party is.

We did, I was on the rifle team. Range was under the swimming pool. Good times.

I don't think we were allowed to bring our own rifles though. Not sure, didn't have one and my family didn't hunt so the rifle team was a good way for me to learn gun safety and how to shoot.

You've never seen this guy? His news segments get linked to all the time by libertarians. I've seen dozens of them, and they never fail to make my eyes roll right out of my head. This one being no exception.

Yet they still manage to have some pretty ugly mass murderers which is what started this debate. Gun control doesn't work to stop mass murderes and can't work in a country with 300 million guns.

Let alone the fact that every other western country is still just as violent.

While the first AWB from 1994-2004 was a just a formal workaround, passing something similar to calm the retarded masses wouldn't be such a bad deal. The media keeps throwing around all these retarded statistics about no background checks at gun shows (like 90% of all gun show sales don't go through a fed check) which, for a gun owner, is great; only non-business FTF transactions bypass fed background checks, so if they shore that up and make every transfer go through an FFL, I would consider this a victory. So much shit, from both sides, make this a clusterfuck for anything substantial to come out soon. I have a feeling POTUS will dictate congress to throw the anti-gun freaks a bone, but a small fuck-you, type of bone that both sides know ain't shit.

With how large the industry has become after the last AWB expired, I don't see anything major that would curtail sales and cost them all important JERBS. Before and during the AWB, there were just a few OEMs and Colt making AR-15s and the after market was nonexistent. Now, there's a whole industry around them and the after market is huge. That's lots of vocal Nascar-lovin' yokels who'll sing sweet in front of the cameras with NRA money taking about "The black prince took mah jerb!" I don't think POTUS wants that right now.

All in all, I think if anything with teeth comes through the house and senate for POTUS to sign, I would be extremely surprised.

Nothing will happen on the Fed level but expect lots of new gun control laws in blue states and lots of NRA lawsuits.

Another 4 people shot to death, plus three officers injured (one shot in the chest but saved by BPV).http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/...8BK0Y520121223

Investigators are searching for a possible motive in a shooting spree that left four people dead in rural Pennsylvania, including two apparent neighbors of the gunman, state police said on Saturday.

The violence erupted on Friday when a man with a pistol fatally shot three people in Frankstown Township, about 100 miles east of Pittsburgh, before he was killed in a shootout with state troopers as he tried to flee in a pickup truck, authorities said.

Officials identified the gunman as Jeffrey Lee Michael, 44.

Pennsylvania State Police spokesman David McGarvey said two of the three people the gunman killed appeared to be neighbors, but gave few further details.

We need easier concealed carry and wasn't one of the 4 the shooter? So it's really 3 people. RIP & etc. But from what I read if one of the male neighbors had had a gun the lady at Church would still be alive.
