Jeez, should we ban guns or blacks and Mexicans? Superficially, it's kind of funny. Liberals want to ban guns and/or assault rifles because 0.00000001% of owners happen to be psychopaths. But a larger percent of minorities are murderers than assault rifle owners are psychopaths. If we really want to cut down on violence, why not ban minorities instead? Obviously I'm being facetious (full retard), but it shows just how futile this assault weapon ban crusade by morons is.

The simple truth is we have millions and millions of guns in America. The super vast vast majority of owners are responsible and do not kill people. A very small minority (and according to the data, it seems they are usually a minority race!) uses them to kill other people, likely gang related violence. And an extremely small, otherwise insignificant fraction of a percent, are psychopaths who go on these tragic school shootings. The idea of a ban is just fucking retarded. It won't address any issue.

Yup. And a whole lot of people think "assault rifle" or "semi-automatic" means that you hold down the trigger and it will do the same! And they don't have a clue of the difference between a magazine and a clip. They're just ignorant. And simply because they know nothing about guns, and because they're being told they need to be "outraged" by something, they'll launch all these stupid anti-gun things. Fucking morons.

Seems to me the real solution would be to fix our economy and school systems and to engage a better attempt at assimilating all the disparate portions of our population into a cohesive national identity by helping create and provide them with jobs which will support their families in order to get more people out of poverty and out of the gang lifestyle which perpetuate the majority of the violence.

Poverty is the problem that causes the majority of gun crime in America (excluding mass shootings like the school attack two weeks ago), not the availability of guns, not minorities. I will agree that when you put many different ethnic backgrounds together in close proximity and do not provide them with the type of opportunities required to support their families, that you will see an exacerbation of the violence due to the presence of poverty and as the struggle for access to resources between groups intensifies.

That's definitely the primary problem, and whoever solves it needs a Nobel prize in something.

About 42:30 into this one they say in 2003 Chicago had 599 homicides in 1 year, police say 2/3rds are probably attributable to gang violence.

Rate has since gone down but it's still at a much higher rate than NY for example.

No comments from our libs about the extremely disproportionate racial distribution of violent muderers in our country? What percent of Hispanic murderers are here illegally? Could we save more lives with stricter border pistol than gun control? We've already seen assault weapon bans do not prevent school shootings.

weapon only require 1 particular physical trait to get on the banned list.
50 percent tax on the sale of ammunition and firearms magazines
prohibit online purchase of ammunition.
make it illegal to prohibit the storage of firearms and ammunition in a manner that allows access by persons under age 18.
