But on the whole, illegal immigration is a huge issue in the U.S.--Now, I'm pro-immigration. NASA, the Nuclear Energy, U.S. world dominance--lots of great things happened because we were pro-immigration. But it's easy to let the Einsteins in--no one though, let the whole ship full of Jews in. That's the difference between Illegal and Mass Legal (Canada) immigration. With mass legal, you get skilled workers who can be almost hand picked based on your countries economic needs.

With illegal, you get the poor. And we know crime evolves from poverty--As does social pressures/costs. Now, I think people are myopic when they hate on Mexicans--All I see is a bunch of brown customers, and we should let them grow our economy. BUT it's certainly more costly than hand picking the best and brightest among the Latin population, like countries such as Canada, get to do. The fact is that our type of immigration leads to a slew of problems not faced by a country who has no land borders with a near-failed state. That's not racist to say that, it's simply pragmatic. Yes, poverty induces crime and our immigration allows for far more impoverished people to come here from Mexico--the product of that statement is not racist.
