Interesting. Reading around (just on mobile this morning so a quick look) there seems to be some conflicting reports about whether it is RGBW or RGB since it is a Costco model. Also whether it is IPS or VA. But for 5" inches with us sitting 12' away and a picture that is generally reviewed as really good... May be worth it. Really just wanted something new before moving to OLED or the other tech.

Only rub is we don't have a Costco local, but my parents do and have an account.

Convinced the family to get a 4K TV, likely going with the 55" Samsung KS8000 series since those are already $1000 and we'll see if they dip under for Black Friday.

$729 for the 55" if you know someone with an email that will work with Samsung EPP

Damn. In need more professional type friends. Would love access to these Samsung deals. The 75ju7100 is like $1900 thru that.

I did the ks8000 60inch for 1179 at best buy, I wish I knew someone with epp to get the 65 for 1079 but no one here has it and I have searched reddit and found nada shared.

I can tell you right now the 60 inch I have is awesome and my entire family keeps talking about it. Very happy with the purchase just greedy and want bigger.

Anyone else have a hell of a time shopping for lower end TVs? I have to have new shiny stuff, so while my wife wants to just get the first $350-$399 50" Samsung set she can find, I'm over here recommending $500 4k sets for their speed and brightness as if I've got to use the thing myself.

Samsung has crappy ass customer service so I'd advise researching the model before you by as to what the fail rates are, dead pixel or hardware issues, etc. The low end is the low end because they're the panels expected to have problems.

Yeah, the added annoyance there is Best Buy is nearly 70 miles away.

We're headed there now to make a decision, fun times.

Edit: ended up with a 6200 series 50" because they can't sell the 4k I wanted until Black Friday.

Edit: audibled to the Vizio E series.

65" KS8000 is $1,079.99 right now through EPP, even my work version which has never matched that.

I'll PM you but post it here too for anyone else.

If you don't know if your company has EPP through Samsung just sign up for an account using your work email. If they do when you log in it should show your company name / logo in the corner once you're logged in. That was easier for me than finding the HR link to our Employee Benefits page, which then had a link to the Employee Discounts program, when then went through Beneplace.com.

The bad news is that the TV is showing back up to $1499.99 now.

Planning on doing FFXV on a PS4 Pro with a Samsung KS8000, although most of the stuff including HDMI cables won't be delivered until next Tuesday. Are there any good references for HDR calibration settings to squeeze the most out of the display?

Same reason I upgraded to pro and 4k, ffxv.

The ks8000 I am using the 60inch it is absolutely incredible for dark souls 3 and a few others.

Still trying to figure out how to get the 65inch.
