I use an audio Technica AT2020 XLR into my Scarlett 2i2, but there is a USB version - I can't speak to the quality of that.

I have a monitor arm with a shock mount on it. It keeps the mic from really moving around.

For key presses there's a few options you can do. If you're streaming you can put noise gates into OBS. If you aren't you can try RTX Voice. Also you can use voicemeter and implement noise gates through that as well. Or push to talk I guess.

If you have infinite money, the Shure SM7B is the gold standard mic (they use them in radio stations and recording studios )

I'm looking for a new headset for myself. Glasses suck

Those plus a modmic 5 stuck on the side have changed up my headphone game immensely. Slight more bass than the sennheiser 58x from massdrop which I like.

Can find tons of reviews online if you want to dig deeper but putting those through my fiio e10k blew my socks off! It's so amazing!

After talking to some bros and reading reviews I think I'm going to pick up the DT 990's. The Scarlett can handle 80/250 ohm versions, but if you don't have a DAC you'll want one.

You can always get push to talk mic stands or line switches for both desk or foot versions.

I don't know about a headset mic, but if you want a standalone mic, you could get the Blue Yeti, which seems really popular. To get the best sound out a standalone mic, you'll also probably need some accessories for it like a boom arm, pop filter, and a shock mount. Could bypass the boom arm / shock mount if you could find some nice pads for the mic base to minimize/avoid vibrations getting heard.

I had a modmic 5. It has a mute switch that doesn't mute 100% by some stupid design. But the mute switch came apart for no apparent reason, so I super-glued it together and it was fine. Then the plastic thing that holds the magnet on the mic itself broke apart for no apparent reason. I went to order a new one, they charged like $3 for 1 or $5 for 2 I think, and like $10 shipping or something, much more for shipping than the actual item. When it arrived, it came in a monster sized box big enough to fit at least 100 of them, if not 300, but there was only 1 in there and I ordered 2. When I contacted them, they sent me the other one in a tiny padded envelope, no doubt with cheapest possible shipping, something they should have done in the first place.

I doubt I'll buy another Antlion product, cheaply built, overpriced crap by a company run by very stupid people. I really want to get their wireless version, but I have to think it'll just break or the battery in it is total shit tier and will lose most of it's capacity in a year. I'll wait for competitors and just use my old half-decent desk mic which sounds ok.

Anyone user Beyer dynamics DT990s? Brahma Brahma ?

Wondering how good they are

Yeah, I had these. They were good for the money. Make sure you do NOT get the 600 ohm versions. You will need a beefy amp to power them. I can not comment on the 32 or 250 ohm versions since I didn't snag em. I used them a couple years and sold them for some HD700's. Was great for gaming OK for music.

I owned the premiums at 600 ohms since I had the amp. TOTALLY different sound than the Sennheiser HD650's, but I would put them on par with that headphone. So for about 150 less, it's a great deal. Again that was the 600 ohm headphone with a 1k dollar Woo Audio WA6 tube amp backing them. The highs on the DT990's are WAY cleaner and sharper. But the HD650's did everything else better. Just slightly though.

I would NOT buy them over HD650's or maybe even the 600's. They are better than anything below that that in the Sennheiser line up though sound wise IMO. Especially at the price point.

Things bad I do remember. The headband was cheap. Wore out fast. It's bonded leather. The velvet was hot as fuck also. Headphones started getting a crackling sound in one of the ear cups after a few months. This was pretty common. I had the amazon warranty, so I didn't care. Itty bitty tiny screws holding the headband to the ear cup. These needed to be tightened every couple months.

For 200 bucks I would buy them. If that's your budget. I would probably spend the extra 100/150 and get HD600's or HD650s. They are just built better. Like last a lifetime better.

No love here in this thread for my AKG K712 Pros. By far the best headphone if you play a lot of open-world games, biggest soundstage.

Never tried them myself. When I was willing to spend that type of money, Sennheiser was all the rage. I stuck with them and Beyer Dynamic. And most recently HiFiman.

I've got them, not the worst headphones I've had and not the best either. Main reason I grabbed them was the dual battery system and that has worked flawlessly. They fit me well and I can use them for a long spell and not be bothered by them.

The dual battery is a big draw for me too. I want a dual battery or a charging dock, so it comes down to these or the Astro A50s.

I bought these for my kids, talking to them on Discord the sound quality of the mic isn't bad. I cannot speak to their comfort as I have not worn them for more than a few minutes, but my kids have not complained.

Good stuff: comfortable head band with memory foam like qualities. Great sound and was able to wear it through a 3 hour raid with no discomfort. I recommend.

So I bought two pair of knock-off AirPods, one AirPod 2 clones and the other AirPod Pro clones. I'm really quite happy with them, especially for the price, but I'm running into a weird issue with Twitch on Android. There is at least 1 full second of latency when using the Twitch app. I know this isn't unheard of with bluetooth headphones, but the strange thing is that the lag is non-existent in Youtube. Is this just a deficiency in the Twitch app or am I doing something wrong?
