I take my crazy woman down to get a spinal tap at 9am in the morning. I have never seen so much anxiety and fear over a test in my life as she has had going on this week. Hopefully it goes smooth as it can.
From what I been reading on it it is actually after the tap is done life gets shity for a few days. I bought a bunch of vitamin waters she likes and some caffeine code red for her( she doesn't drink soda/coffee normally ) to hopefully bypass some of the side effects of it.

I've never had one, but my Dad has had over 40 of them. He said the pain just comes down to how much experience the nurse/doctor has in doing them.

Best of luck, and get rid of that chick dude.

My friend had to have spinal tap when we were in college because our roommate came down with meningitis. I wasn't there when it happened, but heard he was screaming at the top of his lungs cause of the pain.

Had one earlier this year when they thought I had MS. They do it now under a flouriscope or however you spell it.As long as you stay off your feet and don't over do it for a day or two you really shouldn't notice anything. If you don't sit/laydown and instead walk you supposidly get a mass headache.

The Dr. said a lot of people feel fine and ingore the warning to stay off their feet and get up and move around too soon creating most of the problems.

Ya she took a nap when we got back, but then I caught her trying to wash clothes and cleaning the litter boxes when I got back from getting materials for a job.
Now whatever they gave her has worn off and she says it feels like she has been shot. Don't know how she would know what that feels like, but I assume she is in some serious back pain.
She suffered from high pressure headaches anyways, so I think this actually helped that. She did say the guy hit bone. He didn't use any special tools/scopes for it, he claimed he only does that in the hospital and for fat people.
All in all it took 2 hours, mostly cause the doctor was a hour late showing up.

Based on the nurses suggestion, I got her about 20 vitamin waters, moved the mini fridge into her room and placed a bottle of JD on her nightstand.
At least I am working long hours the rest of the weekend.

I should add for my part the worst was when I came back in to help her get dressed. The table/bed they had her curl up on for it was covered in fluid/blood and drops of blood all over the floor. I was like really, they didn't clean that shit up immediately?
I guess since she has had blood drawn over 8 times in 2 months including again today they knew she didn't have anything bad, but still. In a clinic clean that shit up. This is how zombies are made.

I was told they use the flouriscope which is like a live x-ray in all cases now that aren't an emergency. It allows them to see the bone etc...

I'll ask next time she is up but I am pretty sure that is what she said when she asked him about it.

Confirmed the doctor only uses the Fluoroscope for fat or people with compressed spines or back surgery, at least this doctor. He did entry and everything by eye site, no other tools, but told her after he hit bone if he does it again he was going to use the scope.
It took him 3 times to get the fluids to come out.

I had mine done at the hospital, apparently they schedule it every few days. There were 5 or so waiting. Didn't take but a few minutes. You go in assembly line like and that one Dr. does them all one after another under the scope. That's all that room is used for. I'm assuming he's pretty good since that's all he does.

Ya he did mention he does a lot in the hospital and uses it there to her for everyone. Which is mainly the overweight and specifically back injury/surgery. For MS testing he does in the clinic which here was Graves Gilbert.
Her being Medicaid might have had something to do with it as well, not sure. Seemed cheap which other than hitting the bone there was no issues.
I wasn't in room when he did it, but she said her leg shot out straight like a kick, was weird she had NO control of it either doing that, like being hit in the knee on a reflex test.

Tomorrow is my first chemo finally.

I go in at 9:30 for blood draw and paperwork. I start at 11 and sit in the chair for 6 hours. Got my iPad all ready to go. My wife is taking me in and I told her I need a BJ on the sly during it and she just smiled and said "ok sure". I don't think she is going to try it.

haha you might not feel so hot after they start the infusion. I feel like crap immediately during mine. Good luck with your treatment.

I spent 10 hours in the chair. Overall not too bad at least for now.

I was allergic to one medicine and benadryl didn't help so they had to push some Pepcid also. That did the trick. It is the one that takes the longest and the one they drip the slowest the first time so they can monitor your reaction to it.

They pushed some anti-nausea med that is wearing off ... thrilled about that.

Yeah, I 2nd the weed idea.. Cures the nausea and makes video games more fun in one fell swoop.

Anybody here have/had Diverticulitis? Just had my 2nd attack this year a few nights back and it fucking sucks-- pain is like glass shards moving through your intestines. I've basically become afraid of eating because you just never know what/when a flare-up will hit.
