I just posted about diverticulitis this page or last, mother-in-law got hospitalized with it for over a week. She was in serious condition for awhile there.

a_skeleton_03, what we really want to know is did you get your dick sucked?
Well, damn.. Wish the search function would identify the page instead of the thread.

Fucking sucks, I'm only 41 and I have to eat like a Peepaw now. At least for me, I've found the whole "eat more fiber" mantra to make things worse. Oatmeal and whole wheat bread might as well be chunked glass moving through my intestines. I can't even wear a belt today because I look 8 months pregnant.

Been using weed for my chemo. 3 full months after tomorrows round which will be my last one before my CT Scan in Sept. I've had chemo with and without using weed now. I wouldn't go a single round not using it now. The manageability difference is night and day. Wish I had it for the 2 separate times I had horrific chemo drugs. That was some bad shit.
Thank you MASS for making it legal. lol

Which chemo drugs?

My regimen is R-CHOP which is a little rough but not crazy I hear.

Right now I'm on Vinorelbine. The really bad shit I've been on is Adriamycin and Doxorubicin. The latter lovingly called The Red Death. The Vinorelbine is much much much milder than those other two. Mild nausea and fatigue vs. major nausea, worst fatigue, mouth sores, butt sores (yeah those were incredibly fun), and hair loss.

I gotta give you guys props, I watched my mom undergo chemo on and off for nine years and it killed me just watching.. Shit is horrible and after having had to witness it I don't know if I'd have the balls to make it through. I keep telling myself if/when the day comes, I'm just going to liquidate all my savings and go on a fuck 'n drugs rampage across Asia and end it on a beach in Thailand somewhere. You guys are heroes, serious. Keep up the fight.

That is my exact terminal illness fantasy as well. We're like the same person

My terminal illness fantasy begins with buying an RV and finding a drug-addict that knows the streets.

Bah quit being a bunch of pussies. When you're pretty much forced to go through something shitty you just adapt and weather the storm. It takes practice. :p

So today about an hour before my infusion I chowed down half a "medicated" cookie. I really wish I had done this before each treatment. It lessened the completely and utter shittiness I feel to about half of what it normally is. This makes it sooooo much more manageable. If I continue treatment after my CT Scan I will definitely be stocking up for each round.
Oatmeal White Chocolate Cranberry cookies if it matters. :p

Weed is still not legal here. Got Marinol, but shit's expensive, for terminals only. And we have to apply for permission from our CDC to prescribe it.

What specific THC combo works for you chemo guys - weed, hashis in cocoa milk, what? Tells us about it. Please.

Damn really on the Marinol? $10 copay for 60 capsules/month for me.

Not including the Marinol I've only used weed and I've mostly used a Vaporizer. I've got a 2 pack of edible in cookie form. Half a cookie doesn't get me high but it absolutely helps with the nausea and just plain sick feeling during infusion. Personally I find Indica stuff more therapeutic than Sativa stuff.

For me with what I'd say are mild side effects how weed works is when it makes you high at the same time it makes you just feel not sick feeling anymore either.

I am on the Doxorubicin also. Just my first cycle so far though, we shall see.

Not sure what I am going to do about a medical marijuana card since I still am maintaining a security clearance from work. The rules on it are quite fuzzy.

So the worst one actually is the Vincristine which completely negates my tastebuds.

I would almost welcome the puking if food tasted good enough to make it worth eating to begin with.

The only downside I had to 5 days of a 1mg of cortasteroid infusion was the taste deal. Didn't really affect my food but I could no longer enjoy a good cigar which I smoke about once a month or every 6 weeks. Going on 4 months now and still not back.

Test results are back and confirmed Multiple Sclerosis in spinal fluid in Shelly.
Kentucky is not a medical marijuana state and he gave her a list of 9 drugs today he wants her to try. Some of which cost $1000 or more per month.
This for a woman with no savings, no job and no income.
So next step for her seems to be filing disability again with the now confirmed diagnosis and I guess start fighting for law changes( it comes up next year again for Kentucky ). She doesn't take prescriptions like ever, let alone some of these drugs that have hella side effects and usually don't even work from most of the MS forums I've read.

Well afaik MS treatment is mainly Cortisone injections as much as needed to drive down the (reoccuring) inflammations and trying to not get sick with your immune system being suppressed.

That's some expensive as fuck Cortisone then.
The first one Gilenya is 48,000 a year.
Tecfidera is listed around 55,000 a year.
Aubagio is listed at 48,000 a year.

He listed some others Rebif, Axovex, Betasera, Copaxone, Tsyabin. He wanted her to try all of these to find which one worked.
Medicaid as far as we know won't cover them.
So ya...

About 25 years ago my mother handed me a wad of cash and asked if I could find some pot for her sister, who was going through wicked awful chemo at the time. It was a strange moment.

Then, 8 years ago, my mother got sick, and went through her own chemo, and cousins of mine brought her some pot.

Any stupid fuck who says it shouldn't be legalised has never watched the positive effect it has on a loved one who is coping with chemo. Settled nerves, more appetite, better attitude...It's fantastic.
