Stupid silly story. My first anal fissure, I was playing battlefield and I had the bright idea of ripping a fart as hard as I could. So I did, and I ripped my ass, for a fucking fart. I had a minor tear, took a week to heal and that was the start to the roid that was removed last week. 8 years ago.

Damn so you really did tear yourself a new asshole?! Amazing. lol

Yeah that shit is nasty as fuck a_skeleton_03 but thankfully it's the last one. Last time I had Adriamycin the last 3 months I was in the ER with low blood counts and crippling hemorrhoid/severe irritation pain. It was so bad I could barely walk. Had to have an infusion each time I went in for my blood counts.

Throw a party or something soon as your not hurling!

Just got back from the hospital after a hemorrhoidectomy. I had a very bad roid that lasted for 3 days and sent me to the bed straight. So today went to the surgeon and had it removed. Just with local anesthesia, that shit is nerve wrecking, feeling then down there. Now the post operation is nothing but pain. Fuck, even my penis hurt, somehow my glans hurts a lot, makes me want to scratch it. 2 weeks of this. F me.
Shit bro...that's a brutal surgery. Did they try banding it first? I've been dealing with butthole problems the past year or so. Before that I'd get a bout of hemroids every 6 months or so that would go away with cortisone. Well, last year I had a rough stool and it caused an anal fissure (note: do not Google "blood in stool" unless you want to become so paranoid that you'll lose sleep). The fissure would come and go throughout the year, but never fully heal. At it's worst, a bowl movement would require me to bite down into a towel for the initial push due to the excruciating pain. I would also need to take a shower after due to how much blood there was - the toilet looked like it was full off Kool-aid. After trying the hardest prescription shit available, a nitroglycerin ointment that causes dehibilitating headaches, I was considering getting the surgery.

Similar to yours, it's very serious shit (in terms of quality of life). A lateral internal sphincterectomy slices your butthole muscle so that it can no longer spasm, allowing the fissure to heal. The downside being the recovery and a risk of incontinence (my doc said the risk is low until you're old then you're guaranteed to shit yourself everyday).

The good news is that I decided to see another specialist. This guy is a butthole master. He sent me off to this mom and pop pharmacy to get a special compounded ointment that is made specially for his patients. I put this stuff 2 knuckles deep twice a day for 12 weeks. I'm on week 6 so far and it's been remarkable. I'm seeing a light at the end of my butthole tunnel.

Anyways good luck with your butt problems, they are no joke. Eat your fiber everyone.

I am perplexed at how many people have issues with their asshole. Are you all morbidly obese landwhales that don't know how to clean yourself? Only half joking.

Fissures and cysts can come from hygiene but generally the underlying cause is going to be circulatory.

High blood pressure is actually bad for your asshole. Don't think about it very often, but it is.

Well in my case I have no colon and I have had a couple bowel resections. If I don't take some psyllium 2-3 times a day I have a rough day when it comes to the bathroom. I'm also on blood thinners so that doesn't help things either I imagine.

We had a terrible health events the last 4.5 months this year for our family. Fortunately our household has been spared but the immediate family has seen some issues.

My wife's side has born the entirety of it. Her brother lost his wife during labor (baby died as well but was brought back) under odd circumstances. The official stance was amniotic embolism but there were a ton of issues during the entirety of their hospital stay which just didn't make sense. Far too many to even begin to say here but it just didn't make sense what so ever in how they reacted until they found her dead.

Since my wife has been a Trauma / ER RN for a decade + she was unhappy with the official story but there wasn't much we could do. Regardless of the malpractice my brother in law is a moron and refused an autopsy despite being called 3x and pressed to do one because of the circumstances and has pretty much refused to do anything to help himself or the girls financially.

He has a history of terrible decision making and ostrich syndrome and he has been virtually impossible to give advice to even before this incident so after she died just forget it. He has a really bad case of the little boy wanting to play adult but not making obvious good decisions. Things like exploring malpractice so he doesn't have to slave away 65 hours a week or even simple things like going to social security to get survivor benefits for his kids. Proper planning in his mind is being too financially centric. He's an idiot but I still feel bad because of how he lost his wife.

Anyway, if that wasn't a shitty enough year. Her father, who had been ignoring high blood pressure for some time, hand an aortic dissection.

Really good site to read up on what it is if you're medically inclined:

Aortic Dissection. Acute Aortic Dissection Information. Patient | Patient.co.uk

Really good site to read up if you just want the layman explanation with diagram:

Aortic Dissection - Symptoms, Diagnosis, Treatment of Aortic Dissection - NY Times Health Information

His is type b which is why he is still alive. The different types simply indicate which path had the dissection. A, is serious as it leads to the brain which is a far less forgiving organ if you throw a clot or reduce blood flow. B, leads to the abdomen which is very important but less of an immediate risk of death should things not go perfectly.

They are both incredibly serious events which at best have a so so prognosis on the Type B side but its better than almost guaranteed death. The net that this particular event can cast is fairly wide. Everything from your pressure building to the point where it just ruptures and kills you nearly instantly to a slow death of lack of proper blood flow to your organs should the dissection increase in size or if the blood flow occlude or even DVT or a plenthora of other complications.

There are surgical options but the death rate from the surgery ranges from 17 to almost 50% depending on the situation. In addition there is a serious risk of paraplegia from the surgery. So opening up people for this is only done if its life or death. Hopefully before they get so weak that surgery is a guaranteed pink slip from life.

Anyway, feels good to type it out and maybe it will help someone here take their blood pressure meds if they need them.

I'm not sure how many of you have good relationships with your in laws but mine are fucking amazing people. He was an idiot for ignoring his blood pressure but he is a great man. Has helped his kids and their spouses immensely and has always made me feel like a son and never an outsider. I know many people have shitty relationships with their in laws but these people are just easy to love and I'd like to see him get as much time as possible.

Hope all of you with issues get them resolved to your satisfaction or better.

Of course I clean myself silly. Besides, the issue isn't cleanliness (for fissures) but having literally too tight of an asshole.

Seriously. If you have to strain at all to take a shit, you're either not getting enough fiber, or not drinking enough water, or both. Or, you might have too much of a sedentary lifestyle. Add psyllium fiber to your diet at NIGHT and be amazed at the ghost poops you will have.

OR you might have had 6 rounds of chemo with Vincristine.

Just got the call at 6:30est that he passed. Artery ruptured.
Sorry for your and your wife's loss, man.

I've got a question for our chemo experts. My Mom has had just one IV treatment, and is taking oral medication as well. She is on oxycodone for the pain, but the biggest problem is getting her to drink or eat anything. Any tips?

I will preface this by saying I have lymphoma and in my mid 30's. The chemo we get and my age I think makes it less terrible. I basically just wrote the first 2-3 days off as not eating more than a bite or two of something here and there. Soft stuff like pudding or a shake. The first couple days are all about just living. For drinking I had to test a variety of flavors until I found something that worked. For me it was country time strawberry lemonade. It just had the right amount of whatever tartness and sweetness for me to get a decent amount of it down to stay hydrated enough.

From there it is a matter of figuring out what turns to paste in your mouth (breads) and what flavors you can stand. I would also eat a lot of lemonheads and just lemon drops in general. Pregnant chicks use that to get over morning sickness also. The pucker factor I guess helps you be less queasy.

I was usually over my major nausea and eating issues within a week. Lose maybe about 5-10 pounds and then bounce back. I had more issues taking any size of pill at all but that is because I really don't like pills and never have. I also didn't have a bulk cell tumor which I hear is a whole different kind of feeling than lymphoma/leukemia. I hope she figures it out. A few last suggestions. Eat nothing you like right now. I mean you can eat something you like but not a favorite dish. It will be ruined for your later on. She should avoid them. Try anything and everything. I like to call it flavor profiling. I had to try a bunch of different things to see what flavor profiles worked for me. I love cheese and just eat it off the block but on chemo it was all muted and bland. Red tomato sauces were great. Anything salty or with mustard was terrible. Root beer floats had a special magical taste better than ever before but only after week 1. If she sees food on somebodies plate she should reach down and grab some and try it and see what works. Stick with those things as long as she can stand it and then move on quick when those flavors start to sour. I am off the strawberry lemonade right now and on a Pepsi kick, no other flavor of soda just Pepsi. It is working ok but the minute it starts to get old I will dump it quick before I start hating it.

Hope all that rambling helps.

We give our patients a combination of Colace and Senna. But, I wasn't talking about cancer patients; I was talking about everyone else.
