Sorry for your loss. There never seem to be any good words to be said in a time like this.

I know, I am just having fun with you since my asshole hurts a lot! I am on docusate myself. It's good, I like the red pills.
Ahh man this is way too painfully familiar. lol
I feel your pain. Literally.

And I agree on the red pills too.

Then about getting some calories in you when you just don't want to eat. My doctors have always recommended stocking up on protein/diet shakes so that I could sip on them through out the day. My chemo gave me an absolutely awful taste in my mouth so vanilla shakes really helped with that for me.

God this treatment is just fucking my head up big time at this point. I got 10 hours of sleep last night. That is more than I've gotten this entire week combined. The mental fatigue is legit as fuck.

And listen to how I have to manage the constipation/diarrhea. It's equally fucked. I have to take metamucil (psyllium) AND Colace (stool softeners) 3x a day. I started with just taking Colace 2x a day. Morning then evening. What'd happen is the Colace would build up and then the floodgates would open. Of course this happens between 11pm-3am so good bye sleep.
Then I tried Colace and Metamucil 2x a day. Same thing 11-3 but the Metamucil adds too much bulk and ended up giving me nasty constipation cramps before I'd blow the toilet out.
Now I'm doing both 3x a day and I'm about as normal as I'll ever get. No bad cramp type pain or violent diarrhea.

Then there's my taste buds. I made some scrambled eggs and toast for brunch since I slept till 10:30 today. I may as well have been eating a plate of dog shit. That was the last straw. Sat in the shower and sobbed like a bitch for 20 minutes.

Obviously I can stop any time I want to but with our baby due in April I want to give this 100% before that day comes. Since we've gotten good results my doc suggested lowering the dosage a bit if I do want to continue. I've been "nah" on that until this morning. I am in the homestretch with just 4 more rounds to go but I will be talking to her about adjusting it. I feel completely broken. Feels BAD man.

No one needs to reply. I just needed an outlet. Thanks gang.

Feels, bro. I've been having a shitload of problems as well. Don't really feel like talking about it because it's hard enough dealing with it. My heart just isn't ever going to be well again.

2014 can kiss the shiny end of my fuckstick.

High five bro. Hang in there too.

Just weighed myself and unless our scale is broken I've lost approx. 10 pounds in under a week. I think I need to talk to my doctor about nutrition options. I want to lose weight sure but

This morning I called my doctor and cancelled this weeks treatment and the last months worth after that. I'm just DONE. I've lost 15 pounds in under 10 days. I'm sleeping 3-4 hours a night if I'm lucky. When you start having days where you sob uncontrollably for 6 hours because you're just beaten down into the ground from being sick you know it's time to the fucking hint. Thanks for shrinking my tumor chemo but now you can just go fuck yourself.

I already feel better.

Sometimes you need that break. I finished six cycles as scheduled and did my CT/PET scan on Christmas Eve and my Dr. appointment to go over it is Jan 13. My doctor already knows that if it isn't in remission I will be taking a break before I start again, six months was a long and rough time.

Oh yeah the one you were on your body needs the break from big time. That shit is waaaaaaay nastier than what I got this time. Good luck with your results.

Kind of in the same spot, but just another disease. Since September, I've had cardiac ablation and had 2 leads removed/replaced on my pacemaker, had all SORTS of problems with crazy arrhythmia since then. And today at the doctor, she told me wanted me to consult about getting a left ventricular pump installed. I'm just not fucking ready for that.

Lemme tell you having a running nose, congested skull, scratchy/sore throat, AND a god damn ear ache on top of all the chemo shit side effects is NOT fun. I'm very glad I did not do chemo this week holy crap.

LabCorp introduced something very interesting now for those who want more independence. It also aids those who need an lab slip on days when the offices are closed and are unable to fax the slips.

:: Welcome to Personalabs ::

You can buy your own labs of what you want and just take it to any LabCorp that is participating. Very cool. However, you do have to itemize the bill and send it to the insurance yourself, unfortunately. Another downside with it is that you could potentially buy shit that you don't even need. The only real necessary things are (which are cheap, too) comprehensive metabolic panel, lipid panel, magnesium, CBC, and urinalysis.

I can't imagine ever using that service.
And I'm pretty sure I'm having an allergic reaction to the amoxicillin for my ear infection. Rash on both hands and my face too. My hands feel irritated. My face at least feels fine. Yes I have called my doctor. Waiting for a call back now. So fucking tired of being sick at this point. Ugh

update: Yup was an allergic reaction. Hands and face are both red now. Doc told me to stop the antibiotics and take some benadryl. Once it clears up they'll call me in something other than Amoxicillin.

That's actually interesting. My wife switched jobs in December, and thus we got on a new health insurance plan, and the new company needed us to get in a wellness checkup (height/weight/BP/cholesterol/blood sugar, etc) in order to get a large health insurance credit for 2015. We couldn't get an appointment for a non-emergency at our normal doctors with like 2 weeks notice before the end of the year(we were looking at the shortened Christmas and New Years weeks). I'd always had labs done at places like LabCorp or Quest Diagnostics. I figured I could just make an appointment to go to one of those places, have the blood drawn, and be done with it.

NOPE. They won't even see you for ANYTHING without an official doctors order. I couldn't comprehend why an individual couldn't request labs be run. What if someone is interested in their cholesterol rating, but doesn't want to mess with a doctors appointment? Shouldnt that person be able to go get that checked on their own?

Glad to see that service opening up and becoming a little less restrictive.

Next time you suspect something bad happening, you should just bite the bullet and go to the ER. AND, you should ALWAYS have benadryl somewhere in your house. Never take an allergic reaction lightly.

My updates for the past few months-
Shelly finally got her Copaxone delivered. She took 3 injections( 1 week ) before she started to have pain in her chest and problems breathing. It gave her Pneumonia and she is still recovering from that. She has continued to decline from last fall. She is now pretty much in my eyes 70% disabled. She cannot walk well, has trouble lifting anything and has now started to become cloudy in that she remembers nearly nothing. Despite her RN/Nuero/Chiro/and specialist all saying in the last medical reports pretty much above, SS/Disability declined her the 2nd time. I hear this is normal and just part of the routine. She picked up a attorney and is going ahead with appeal.

For me, I was doing semi well with the usual back pain and odd leg cramps I been having until Monday where I tried to pick up the stray cat we had been feeding this year to bring inside due to the weather. I have 9 deep lacerations on my arm, 4 from bites. I don't think it is rabid but I had to go get Tetanus shots and put on some heavy antibiotics over it. They wanted to get me rabies injections but I refused. Been feeding it a year I am 99% sure it is not rabid, it just didn't know why I picked him up and freaked out over it.

All seems quite minor compared to what most of you are going through, Glad to see Gravy made it to the new year, here is hoping to 2016 for you bud.

Thing you have to worry about with cats is cat scratch disease. Why would they give you a tetanus shot? Lol

I thought any deep cuts called for tetanus shots. I took an elbow to the face a few years back and had to have my tetanus renewed because it require liquid stitching.

Ya this. My last one had been 2004 and they suggested I get one anyways. It was tied in with a whooping cough and Diptheria or some upper respiratory vaccine which I guess is a plus since there was some cases of WC here last year mostly thanks to the immigrants our city harbors in the immigration program. Really I needed one anyways since I am constantly cut/bruised and punctured on the job, though usually minor.

But ya keeping a lookout for cat scratch down the line and the very unlikely chance of rabies, for which I told Shelly to inform you all so you can watch the news headlines and say that fucker done gone crazy.

Yah, you should be getting your TDaP pretty regularly, which is why I was asking.
