Alright bros, so it's not cancer or anything but I'm wondering if this is a thing for anyone else. I don't drink heavily very often so I rarely get hangovers but when I do they are awful. That's not really news but there is this other, really strange thing that happens when I'm hungover... I get really, really horny. The worse the hangover the more I want sex and it's a very immediate emergency. It's fine when I'm laying in bed next to a woman but when I'm not I actually have to fight myself to not start texting "old flames" just to try to get some action.

Does this sound like a medical condition?

To be 100% honest it sounds like a psychological issue. Whether it be an abandonment issue or a sexual addiction issue or just an inability to really cope with the morning alone.

I am not saying you are broken but that I have never heard of a medical condition involving a hangover and a powerful need for sex.

..alcohol suppresses testosterone..
testosterone production is part of a negative feedback system (a self-correcting mechanism), centered in the hypothalamus and pituitary gland. In short, the hypothalamus produces a hormone that stimulates the pituitary gland to produce a second hormone called luteinizing hormone (LH), which travels in the bloodstream to stimulate production of yet a third hormone, testosterone. When testosterone levels are low, receptors in the brain and pituitary gland signal these organs to secrete more testosterone stimulating hormones. By the time you wake up on Sunday morning, this corrective mechanism is in full flight.

I read it on the internet so it must be true.

Oh my god FINALLLLLLYYYYYYY after a week and a half my ear is starting to get better. It was popping nonstop today. I saw an ENT yesterday and he prescribed some Methylprednisolone to help with the inflammation that's still going on. There's also some fluid stuck in there so the popping is a great sign. The final vestiges of the chemo cruddiness are almost gone too.

My hands are peeling like a sunburn from the allergic reaction from the Amoxicillin. Thankfully my face isn't peeling the same way.

What do you think caused it?
Nothing specific is the problem. I work with radiation but the wrong type. Lymphoma is predominately environmental based and by the time we found it there were lymph nodes affected across my entire body. That doesn't happen in two years which by the time I was diagnosed that was all I had been out for. I was at Al Asad for 13 months straight and there are a few lawsuits against KBR for burn pits and lung cancers and lymphoma.

My VA rep said I need to get a doctor to write a nexus statement saying he 100% would blame it on the military if I even have a chance. I had no real symptoms even two years later and we found it mostly by accident.

"VA reps" always rubbed me the wrong way so I'd be wary imo. When I eas'd and going through tap the vet advocate guys where there and really pushing every single remote scratch to be filed as a disability claim.

Anyone had experience with hospice? I'm meeting with them tomorrow for my Mom. Her cancer blew up all over her body.

I'd like to get her some medical weed, or edibles so she can at least eat. It hurts her to chew and swallow food. This sucks.

What questions you looking for in terms of hospice? Are you actually wanting her in the facility? Or your house? A continuous IV drip of morphine with weed will actually make her comfortable. ((I don't know what her prognosis is...so an IV drip may be a bit too extreme.))

My mother in-law was in hospice for awhile. She was on some pretty heavy pain medicine and at one point a medication to boost her appetite which worked extremely well. Sorry about your mother's situation. Be prepared to talk about her actual end of life and how she would like that handled.

Thanks Kuriin, she'll be at her home at least to start with us being there a lot. She's stage 4 colon cancer and in quite a bit of pain. She takes 20mg Oxy every 4 hours, and a Fentanoyl patch 75mcg.

And yeah, we've talked about the end of life stuff, but we need to finish up a directive for her final days. She's being cremated and we've already paid for that and the ceremony. That's some hard shit, man.

I've had approximately 10 surgeries on my ears since being a child. Ear infections suck major ass man. Ive had chronic holes in both ear drums my whole life. The last surgery they grafted skin over them and it finally stuck. The problem is my hearing in my left ear is like 50%. Shit sucks.

Sorry Gravy, that is some tough shit to deal with. Not looking forward to the day I need to deal with that. We aren't much, but we are here.

Damn I'm also really sorry to hear that Gravy. Another delivery method of pot that you could investigate is tinctures. I have no idea how accessible that type of thing is near you but I bet those would be much much easier for her to take than eating any edibles if she is having bad mouth/throat pain. I had mouth sores with that Adriamycin chemo I had and eating was an exercise in misery. Everything I ate was like eating razor blades wrapped in sandpaper dipped in a nice acid au jus for good measure.

Yeah I am glad I didn't have Adriamycin or however you spell it. ABVD was the other option for my treatment but R-CHOP was the better of the two.

I actually completely glazed over the fact that you said she has pain with swallowing and chewing. As someone mentioned, marijuana comes in various forms that will probably benefit her. Honestly, she should (at this point) be on a continuous drip if she is in pain around the clock. The fentanyl patch is +++, excellent choice. I also spoke with my hubby and he said that should at this point not even eat except for ice chips and sips of water. Her oxy should be switched to Roxanol (liquid morphine).

But yes, please get her POLST in order and quickly that way you won't have to worry about it.
