Lol I just had one of the funniest victories in a long time. Was playing Greedy Hallazeal/Yogg Saron vs what I assume is a Mage Yogg Saron (lots of Cabalists Tome and down to fatigue). I didn't get to play my Yogg Saron though and instead went for Golden Monkey. I got a Nat the Darkfisher from my Golden Monkey and waited until it had a chance to kill them with fatigue and bypass their Ice Block. They had healed for 29 2 turns prior via Reno and then I Alexstrasad them (got it from Monkey). It all came down to a Nat Pagle roll LOL. Had Pagle not rolled his 50% chance for them to draw a card, I would have surely been dead next turn. Haha nobody expects the sneaky Nat, The Darkfisher finisher from Golden Monkey.

Wish there was a way to tell if your friend was on phone or computer. Real pain in the ass to chat with someone and they don't respond because doing so sucks on the mobile client.

You know what's awesome? Dropping a game to some stupid fucking trash n'zoth druid deck because you lost a 1/7 rag roll.

Okay in this current Brawl, DOOM! is a playable card. It might be the only time where it is really playable, but it's probably the best card in my warlock brawl deck.

Brawl summary:

Edit: Whelp, nevermind. What happened to the board's jpeg limit? It's down to 167kb!? Every HS SS I've ever taken has been fine and I even resized it down by half and it was still 200kb, strange.

it was a screenshot of 5 mind controls cast over and over on a Deathwing, Dragonlord.

Not the best deck, but having fun with Mill C'Thun Rogue this Brawl. Still hard to deal with constant big shit if you don't get the perfect draw, but sometimes can get 30/30 C'Thun or higher due to all the big shit being played.

I think the thing that pisses me off the most on ladder is vomit shaman. By which I mean people just randomly vomit shaman cards into a list and call it a deck. And then win because they play something completely fucking retarded that would only be good in that specific narrow situation they are currently in.

Those people will only get so far...Consistent strong deck and play get you up the ladder. The random people will just hit a plateau and grind their gears at some point (usually at Rank 5).

So, i just recently started playing again (did so briefly right around when naxx came out) but i had made my account under an email i never use so i just started over from scratch.

Man.. its a rude awakening coming from being pretty good at magic (won states, ptqs, elite iqs, etc.. that level) and thinking id be pretty good at hearthstone as a result. My arena runs have all been 1-4 wins until my most recent one that got up to 6. I credit adwcta and merps for helping me get there. Between their heartharena site for the draft itself and the few youtube vids i watched of them playing together, it really helped alot.

Since the old adventures are no longer available, how would you get cards from those sets, just from crafting?

I only play casual/ladder enough until i have gold to do arena again. Until i build up a card pool, its very frustrating to play against decks with 7+ legendaries at rank 19. I got a twin emps in an early pack, so i have a half decent c'thun druid, but im definitely just maintaining a 50% win rate till i get some of the other pieces.

Just FYI, adwcta and merps are no longer associated with heartharena. I don't know who's doing the algorithm programming now, but eventually I just dropped a drafting helper and just reference their tier list when I need help:

http://thelightforge.com/TierList

Yes, old cards no longer sold can only be acquired through crafting.

Oh, I didn't even realize that. All the 'new player' guides I had skimmed still referred to it as their tier list/site. I saw that site as well, but I like the way heartharena helps through the draft itself. I realize it has it's faults, but even following it 100% is an improvement over my own judgement at this point. I was definitely drafting too much late game/value cards with my mtg mindset, and not nearly enough early game. I'd almost always get behind on board through turns 2-5 and then my big drops were just not making up enough ground. My parameters for 'aggro' and 'control' were skewed too far towards bigger mana plays. I watched them do a paladin draft the other day where they had almost no 6+ drops and it was still a value/card advantage deck, just a good amount of 4s, was kind of eye opening.

edit: oh, also, I tried to use the heartharena app, but it gets stuck with 'authenticating and initializing data'. Anyone else had that problem or know what I'm doing wrong?

That's any out of meta deck.

Out of meta decks are always going to be annoying because statistically they are going to win 1 out of 10 games with that deck, but you will be the one to run into them for that one win.

I've played the Legend ladder for 4 seasons, and that tends to happen a lot in there. Most people who reach legend don't really care about climbing it at that point so all these strange decks come out that normally wouldn't be played.

I'm actually playing some Wild lately. Pretty much just all Patron Warrior, and Secret Pallys.

Does anyone know if you get double the rewards for leveling both wild and standard to 5 every season? I never even bothered with Wild.

I remember reading somewhere that you only get rewards from your highest rank between Wild and Standard. You don't get double rewards.

If they were smart they'd give double rewards. Keeping interest in wild instead of just completely abandoning the format would be a good way to keep leeching dust out of the game.

Hey Morrow, time to make a Chinese account.

HS China: Top Arena Players to be Rewarded, Blizzard to Integrate Facebook Sign-On Streaming Functionality into Hearthstone - News - HearthPwn

HS China: Top Arena Players to be Rewarded
Blizzard in China is rewarding Arena players through a special leaderboard. It is not known how long this leaderboard will run for as it seems to be heavily tied to rewarding BlizzCon tickets, but here's what we've figured out.

  • Top Arena players in China will be presented on a weekly leaderboard!
  • Each month, the top players will be given Battle.net Points.
  • The very best players can receive a ticket to BlizzCon.
  • The leaderboard looks at how many times players get 12 wins in each time period.
  • This will definitely add some competition to the arena over in China!

Battle.net Points can be spent on Hearthstone card packs, name changes, and also on other rewards for other Blizzard titles which include WoWTCG Loot for WoW, Gold in Diablo III, and Heroes Stimpacks. A list of Battle.net rewards is available on the Battle.net China Rewards Page

Definitely some cool stuff for Arena players. Too bad I am not good enough to get to 12 wins consistently.

Brawl was pretty fun this week. Was satisfying going first and killing them on the second round

Pulled Ysera, divine spirit and inner fire to start, played Ysera first round. She produced the spell that gives a minion +5/+5 and kills it at the end of the turn, so on turn two played that, then divine spirit and inner fire for 34 damage.
