99 paladin wins away from golden all the heroes.
Just started a dragondin deck and its going much better than the zooadin deck. Also, do not understand the reconnect feature in this game at all. Had a guy bug the board out on me w/ antonidas + spell, whether it was intentional or not; but I could tell right away something was wrong, so I close hs and reopen immediately and it doesn't attempt to reconnect. Was completely wrecking the guy, so, so frustrating.

Paladin - Deckbuilder - HearthPwn
The deck is somewhere around 8-2. Ran into a lot of aggro/dragon warriors and it performs really well against them. Only 1 shaman so far so not exactly sure how it fairs, but the one I did, I made a big misplay, he got a 25% spell power totem twice on aoe turns to keep himself alive and it still wasn't even close, felt great.

I love you man but this deck is horrible.

Uninstalled today. I've had enough. See you bros when the expansion drops - assuming that they slow the game down and reduce the bullshit RNG.

The biggest problem with HS is the 30 life cap, not the speed or sizing of minions. It's not difficult to build a control deck that easily blunts early aggression. The problem is if you're not playing Warrior, their deck inevitably contains some kind of combo that will basically remove 30 life in 1 or 2 turns that you can't ever beat.

When Maly Druid plays Thaurissan, swipes your face, drops two Arcane Giants, and is sandbagging 26 damage with Malygos, there is no 10 card hand in existence that will get you out of that. Same goes when Tempo Mage plays Thaurissan followed by Antonidas followed by 5 spells. You're dead, it doesn't matter how much of an advantage you previously generated. Don't have any of those combos? Just play Yogg, which will generally give you enough cards in hand/board presence to remove 30 life in 1 or 2 turns. Your opponent might have all the answers but 10 or 20 mana isn't enough to cast them all before they die.

Yogg and Arcane Giant have guaranteed Non-Warrior control and the entire Priest class is dead for the next two years. These archetypes just fundamentally can't beat "10 mana hand dump, plus two free 8/8s"

You'll probably have better results just banging it out with Zoth pally. You can tweak it to improve the matchup against aggro quite a bit.

Oh I know, I did pretty well with n'zoth pally last month, just felt like I needed to try something new/different.

I need a friend for that one quest. Anyone? You can watch me fail my way to the top of course.

I don't know about the rest of you but I'm playing against nothing but hardcore control decks right now. I've played two games in the last hour.

They need a few new quests...

Defeat 3 FotM decks.
Get friend invited by recent opponent and subsequently get messaged for lack of originality.
Win and lose, in that order, for 6 consecutive games when on the bubble to Legend.

For the brawl this week, I went Priest with Mind Blast, went 5-0. Glad I kept the win 5 brawls.

I just played against the most ridiculous shaman deck I've ever seen.. in arena. Look at the cards he played, it reads like a budget witchdoctor constructed list. Then, on top of the crazy card quality, he of course had t1 spirit claws into t2 air totem. I had a fairly good answer to that, if he didnt also have specifically maelstrom portal, but of course he did. There was literally no line I could have taken in the early turns that would have put me in an even spot, let alone ahead.

I seriously don't understand what goes through blizzard's minds when they create cards. The power level of the RNG keeps getting more and more out of hand. It's like they hear us saying 'hey this RNG is bad' and think everyone wants literally a chess game with no RNG.
I don't understand how WotC can design 200+ cards every 3 months, balance and playtest them, but blizzard can't do that for less than half as many cards every 4 months.

It took WotC 10 years to get somewhat competent. Plenty of examples during the first 10 years of completely broken cards that ended up banned or restricted and I'm not including the obvious alpha/beta/unlimited cards: Library of Alexandria, Mishra's Workshop, Candelabra of Tawnos, Mana Drain, Necropotence, Dream Halls, Memory Jar, Tinker,...

I haven't played Hearthstone for two months now, because the amount of RNG was making me jojo like crazy on the stupid ladder. I don't think I have even played on the ladder the past year. I agree though, still having to change cards 5 months after an expansion release and a total lack of consideration or decent planning from Blizzard is killing the game for me. Playing against an almost dead mage while having total board control and having him casting Yog-Saron and instantly winning after getting 2 Pyroblasts in my face? Fuck that. Next match: same story against a shaman who gets incredibly lucky with Evolve.

I'll probably play it again later, but I need the break from stupid shit like that first. I hope it doesn't take Blizzard 10 years to figure out what is good and bad card design.

It took WotC a long time but they were also piloting the first really big CCG like, ever. HS is the first really really popular digital CCG and apparently that means that they just want to ignore all lessons learned over the past ~20 years and start from scratch.

I think the fact that when a whole year of sets rotate out, across 9 distinct classes, and you're only really noticing ~15 cards going missing, that says a LOT about design quality.

This is a joke right? The first standard rotation completely turned the game on its head.

Also, MTG rotates 800+ cards every year and each expansion cycle is typically heavily focused on some new mechanic. Hearthstone will be rotating ~200, has a core set that never rotates, and the new mechanics with each expansion are fairly insignificant. It's every bit as ridiculous to compare MTG and Hearthstone as it is for Blizzard to have completely failed at learning from the last two decades of CCGs.

I was talking about the upcoming rotation. I'm not directly comparing MTG rotations to HS rotations, I'm simply looking at number of cards rotated out vs. how many anybody actually cares about. ~10% of your design space being used is god awful investment of developers' time AND player time.

I am having great success with a new deck I came up with. The deck is Reno mage with Dragons. The deck only seems to be weak against secret Hunter and tempo mage so I added 1 Eater of Secrets and when I am lucky enough to draw it I have won every game against them.

Arcane blast, arcane missile,Babbling Book, mana worm, frost bolt, forgotten torch, ice block, fireball, water elemental, ethereal conj, blizzard
blood mage Thantos, doomsayer, faerie dragon, loot hoarder, netherspite historian, blackwind tech, brann, eater of secrets, midnight drake, refreshment vendor, twilight drake, twilight guardian, azure drake, blackwing corruptor, book wyrm, reno, Nefarian, Alexstrasza, arcane giant.
