99 paladin wins away from golden all the heroes.
Just started a dragondin deck and its going much better than the zooadin deck. Also, do not understand the reconnect feature in this game at all. Had a guy bug the board out on me w/ antonidas + spell, whether it was intentional or not; but I could tell right away something was wrong, so I close hs and reopen immediately and it doesn't attempt to reconnect. Was completely wrecking the guy, so, so frustrating.

Paladin - Deckbuilder - HearthPwn
The deck is somewhere around 8-2. Ran into a lot of aggro/dragon warriors and it performs really well against them. Only 1 shaman so far so not exactly sure how it fairs, but the one I did, I made a big misplay, he got a 25% spell power totem twice on aoe turns to keep himself alive and it still wasn't even close, felt great.

Pros of Shadowverse so far:

  • Way way less RNG
  • RNG that is there appears to be self-limiting, i.e. discard random lowest-cost card
  • Boobs
  • Still a lot of deck archtypes
  • Runs way the fuck better on mobile than HS ever did
  • Their version of arena, take-two, guaranteed to always play 5 games (reward is just based on how many you win), and I think you can pick whatever class you like every time
  • Super easy to tap through card descriptions and see what shit does in-game
  • There's smallish nukes/AoE spells that can deal with zerg that are neutral cards, just incase fairies ever get out of hand or something I guess

Cons:
  • Lotta people don't like the art
  • You can really feel like you're missing even common cards when you're doing PvP
  • You ARE missing common cards when you PvP, get wrecked
  • The deck building interface is definitely not better than mobile HS (everything is tiny!)
  • It is a new IP soooo no emotion or nostalgia tied to it I guess
  • Still very very tempo driven in my experience (at least compared to Magic), but control seems to have some solid answers for punishing.

They've got a PC version coming this year they claim, but who knows. It's not ideal playing on my phone for sure, but I find it a lot deeper than HS is.

Combat is the same as HS (mostly), but minions are all basically -1/-1 stats for the same mana cost. 2 mana at best gets you a 2/2, anything more than that has a pretty hefty drawback, etc. Board clears are far more common and in general better (twisting nether only costs 6). Their mechanic for going first vs second also feels a lot less skewed towards going first, so you tend to be able to make a huge tempo swing on turn 4-5 or so if you're behind early and second player.

My god is it weeby though.

I feel like it's been 2 years since I convinced myself this isn't a real game. Pretty surprised Reynad is still getting that salty about shit that's been in the game for a long fucking time.
