For those who have not tried Hex, Shard of Fate, now is a descent time to try it out. It is free to play, though you only start with a premade deck. The Arena is in though, so you can build up over a period of time to a potentially competitive deck. I only mention this because of the recent announcement that should peak some interest.

I would not even have bothered until they put in some form of FTP PvE system. That is now in.

Just a thought if you want a change of pace.

Fuck Jaraxxus. I'm surprised there isn't more crying over him. Spawning a 6/6 every turn for 2 mana is insane.

For starters, this is probably the worst meta there has ever been for handlock or demonlock, or basically any warlock deck at all. Secondly, yeah it's strong because it comes with some pretty hefty drawbacks. Now in most cases, the warlock decks running him are pretty well suited to minimizing those drawbacks, but he's not an overpowered card by any means.

Fel Reaver in Arena - yes or no? I feel like it costs me the game more often than it wins me the game. Maybe I just use it wrong. I don't think I'll be drafting it anymore unless the other options are awful (though I have said this before and continue to draft it because "experts" have it ranked highly).
It can be OK, but basically not as a 5 mana card - you want to look at how many cards your opponent has in hand compared to how much deck you have left - if he's got quite a few cards in hand you should expect the potential of losing 9-12 cards a turn off your deck. But if he's in topdeck mode with an empty hand its likely only be 3 a turn.

I would never pick the card intentionally - but those are my rules when I get one off a Portal or Gazlowe type effect.

I know that in general Warlocks aren't in a great spot currently, but he can single-handedly turn around games. (Speaking of this, I'm kind of surprised that Alex isn't bitched about more too.) I was playing warrior and had 33 health. Warlock had 8 health. He played Jaraxxus on turn 11 and went on to win in the game when I conceded on turn 18. That is a helluva lot of Dread Infernals to deal with!

Yeah, I hear ya. I played it twice this arena run. Both times were kind of out of desperation when the opponent still had fairly full hands.

I've had that happen both ways to me, play enough lock and you'll see. The infernals are strong as all fuck but the meta and really the game in general has a fair amount of burst going on. Many times if you find yourself in a position to be Jaraxxusing yourself the infernals are going to be too slow developing to save you from getting waxxed. Especially if the opponent has any board at all, which means he has that much more incoming damage next turn and/or you have to use that weapon to clear something, which means damage to the face you can't afford at that late stage of the game.

The really backbreaking Jaraxxus play is getting him on the board as a minon with voidcaller and argusing him. I've seen more than one opponent concede over that shit.

But yeah warlock is struggling a bit at the moment. Still, I'm seeing a good bit of zoo out there today. Lock is still viable enough, just struggles with consistency at times as of late. Who knows what evil lurks in Blackrock Mountain though.

As far as stuff you're surprised isn't bitched about more, I'm surprised the masses aren't crying more often about force/roar or just roar in general. Feels so cheap to be on the receiving end of it, but play some druid and you realize they aren't as autopilot as they look on the other side. It just seems like one of those wombo-combos that more people would be sick of but its flown under the radar for some reason.

You either need Gromm in hand/soon or Harrison to draw Gromm in that situation. He will win the long game, Jarraxxus is essentially a control deck unto himself. You're the beat down at that point. So push hard for lethal. Actually a very favorable match up for traditional control Warrior.

I honestly don't think the Control Warrior vs Handlock match up is bad at all. I've always had good success with Warrior in that match. It's just about knowing what to remove how, and saving the right things to win the game.

It's also largely dependent on the control warrior still running BGH, which I guess isn't super common in the current meta. Handlock is still one of the worst possible decks for the meta though.
