I swear I am so sick of people that have lethal damage but insist on playing every card in their hand still, forcing me to concede out of annoyance. There needs to be a PSA to tell them that they get less XP when the other person concedes so they should be quick about finishing a person off.

Just made Masters. Seems like aggro decks are really the way to go atm, but some of them are very vulnerable to bad draw. The Warrior deck I am running is pretty explosive with the right draws (like turn 4-6 victories are not uncommon with the right draws), on the flipside I just had a game where I could do nothing but armor till turn 5. Which is unusual, but happens. It suffers from not having good card draw options. Also had a strong streak with a Warlock/Murloc (Murlock) deck I put together and a minion Rogue deck.

Put together a cheap Hunter OTK deck to see how it works from the other side of the table, shit is strong. Most of the Hunters I run into go on turn 8 usually, but I've been pulling it off at turn 6 with a coin or turn 7 without a coin fairly consistently. Added a Stranglethorn Tiger and some other stealth beasts. I just summon them when I have a chance and let them sit there, boosts Kill Command if I get a chance/have to use it, and adds a lot of damage to the OTK. Anywhere from 6-10, depending. In fact it is usually so much damage that I don't really need to Steady Shot all that often before it goes off. I will if I have spare mana, but I've prioritized removal/getting traps up.

Anyone needs a beta key I will give them one. Didn't realize I had a spare one in one of my other email accounts. First person to PM me can have it. I will post it up in this thread shortly after someone claims it just to make sure it's redeemed to avoid any of that Ebaying or selling shit.

EDIT: Claimed but here is the code if not redeemed. 0883898321106429850718901

What do you guys think is the minimum win average for arena to be worth time and money invested? Best I've done in arena is 8 but I usually get no more than 4 wins.

I say always worth it. If you can play constructed up to a masters rank you have a handle on the game's concepts and you'll probably get better at arena play by playing then just watching streamers. Plus arena is fun.

For those of you who have played Magic and this, any suggestions on what class to play when I enjoyed the old Zoo(R/G and Naya) aggro decks in legacy?

From someone who has played MTG I would say it isn't that cut and dry in the slightest. I would play every class during the tutorial and you would get a good feel for it that way.

You need 7 wins per run to never have to invest outside gold (or money). If you just want to arena it is better to stop at 8 wins every time (9 wins gets you less gold, but more cards). However arena is basically always better than buying card packs directly if you're putting in real money.

At release with the 2-3 daily quests, instead of the one you get now, I imagine it'll be pretty easy to get at least one arena per day free and probably 3-4 if you average 4-5 wins per attempt. For something you can treat as a casual game that'll probably work out really well.

I find the selection for arena to be really bizarre. The other day trump got 6? rare draws in a row, up front, and more rare+ later. I get 3 non common cards on average. My 8 win was with a druid basic+2 blue deck, which only beat people who received worse cards than me. And lost only to people who received multiples of purple and legendary and rare. Not "or" they got multiples for all of the above. Very rarely do I or my opponent outplay each other. It feels like an arena in the sense of Roman gladiator entertainment. Will you get full body armor and a shield? Will your opponent be a naked half-dead slave with one arm missing?

I'd love it if they added real Sealed deck competition. Or at least min-max on uncommon draw.

I'm really enjoying the game but the one complaint I have is the duration of turns is way too long. I wish you could customize it some how cause every person I play seems like they're trying out for the next Hearthstone Invitation and they always go down to the wire on every turn.

Yeah, I really don't enjoy how unbalanced decks in arena can get, they need a better format. Clearly there is some skill involved or people like ek0p wouldn't have a 70-80% win rate in arena (his win rate is high enough that he has like 4,000+ gold banked last I checked), but sometimes the RNG of which cards you can pick just screws you.

So what's the purpose of ranked? I played like 20 games and now I'm grandmaster. WHOOPTY DOO. It doesn't even seem to mean anything. It took me like 3 hours.

As to Arena I've played probably 50 or 60 of them. I've bought 13 run with blizz bucks. I think I probably average 6 wins per run, I've won 9 probably six or seven times. I'm just plowing through it to get all the cards before I craft epics. I've got enough to make most decks now minus a card or two.

If you aren't good at these sorts of games the arena is going to be a colossal ball buster, and an expensive one to boot.

Edit: apparently there is no grandmaster, it just says when you win master three your next win will get you grandmaster but it doesn't.

There is no grandmaster in ranked unless you mean you are grandmaster in arena, which you get when you get a 9 win run.

There's no grandmaster in ranked? I've been grinding all this time for nothing?

EDIT: Fuck, you're right.

last I heard, the ranking just isnt in yet. so you basically rank up every win. and max out currently.

It really isn't fair to compare HS to MtG but HS has a lot of aggro decks for certain. Probably the most effective is a warlock/murlock deck but you can certainly make a fast deck for any class. Some key cards won't be ready right away though.

Continuing to tweak my Warrior deck. Adding Sylvanis+charge gave me a great way of resetting the board, which has been a problem in some games. Ditched Inner Rage to make room.
