Healbot in freeze (over CoC) is indispensable.

I beat a control warrior yesterday! yay! Mostly due to doomsayer -> armorsmith.

More cards to lessen the chance of drafting things like holy nova, consecrate, and flamestrike is fine by me. The last one is a huge pain in the ass the play around.

Though, I don't know why you're implying that the overall quality of the card pool has gone down. Sure, dragon synergy is not something you can draft on but that doesn't mean BRM didn't introduce some good standalone cards. The classes that didn't need help didn't get any good arena cards. It was probably purposeful. Except for warrior, they got fucked by BRM in arena.

As for neutral commons, Drakonid Crusher, Hungry Dragon, Volcanic Drake, and maybe Dragonkin Sorceror are all good. Drakonid Crusher is especially good because he makes threatening lethal much easier. I've been able to put many games away by going face then playing him instead of trading minions.

I'm just wondering what effect adding another GvG sized set would have. The arena meta shifted after GvG/BRM already to be a lot more about early game than it ever used to be. It's just a very noticeable effect so far on the variety of deck quality. It's a lot easier to get totally shafted now. I think rarities have something to do with it, there's been rares sets where I would have rather not taken a card than picked any of the 3. Just seeing way more of that now.

Gotta draft with the meta in mind. If the meta shifts toward early game, maybe you should take that river croc instead of the stormwind champion on your 25th pick. Though, I don't think a shifting meta has that big an influence on exposing shitty drafts. You should always draft hoping to curve out.

Some class commons are going to be better than rares, just the nature of the game and arena and constructed using the same card base. Some classes got shitty rares because they need to be toned down. Most of the classes that needed help got good rares with BRM.

Decided to spend some time today taking Patron Warrior for a spin. Mistakes have been made, but I'm 5-5 so far. Biggest problem is that I've gone 0-3 vs. Druids. First of all, I never run into this many Druids - maybe it's an intentional meta response to Patron. Secondly, any tips? Their 4-6 big taunts render my patrons useless.

If you're running into that many taunts, cut something from the deck to make room for commanding shout. Or run a brawl, black knight, or a silence.

To each their own. I've won games off the back of flamestriking twice. Also, I don't always get to the bottom of my deck, so double flamestrike makes it that much more likely that I'll get one. Too much draw (which is seldom a problem in combo decks) can result in your hand being full in the midgame with nothing to safely play, which is pretty disastrous if you don't draw into Thaurissan.

But yeah, I'll concede that the second flamestrike is also a flex card. You can even swap Archmage out for Pyroblast, but with Thaurissan around I think Archmage is much better. If you don't have Blackrock, I'd stick with pyroblast and just accept that you're going to lose matches because of healbot.

I wouldn't drop any of the win conditions for sure. Running into a ton of double healbot stuff lately. Surprisingly not much kezan at all.

I was just about to craft this guy, and I decided to cash in some gold for packs ... worked out pretty well for me.

Is it normal for a control warrior to struggle with midrange Pally?
Yeah, back when I was playing a lot of control warrior was around that time paladin was really popular because of strifecro and I kept losing to it, I added a bunch of aoe, which made it better, but still only ~50/50 matchup. You need an aoe and at the right time or your hosed. Geddon is strong against paladin if you've cut him from your deck.

Hungry dragon is a poor pick in arena

Just lost to a mill Rogue. On the turn he killed me, I started with 28 health. He played 4 Coldlight Oracles that turn... 100% fatigue damage to take me from 28 to dead. Ouch.

I've had some good luck with hungry dragon in arena. As long as you wait until you have a minion on the board or answer in hand that card is a lot of stats to deal with for the mana.
