80 bucks for a 1222 piece set is actually not that bad.

I've seen them get stock in once for the set, seen them announce limited quantities, but it seems 9/10 I've looked at the site out of curiosity (i.e. just now, since you mentioned it), it's out of stock.

It seems if you ever wanted it, you either had to

  • have been "camping it" during initial 1st wave release like I did at midnight drop
  • find a needle in a haystack for restock on their site
  • be rich and be willing to pay $1,000 for a scalped, 3rd party set
Good to see another forumbrah that got his hands on this set... probably the best Lego set ever manufactured, tbqh. The price to part ratio isn't shabby imo with 9000 pieces for over $600.

Is that why you tagged me Izo? Heh.

I just haven’t seen much to concern me - Aloy is the clone of a brilliant scientist living in a post apocalyptic world where Revlon is hard to come by.

Ya, we both waited at 10pm for us when it released. Even ordering it as soon as it would load we technically got it shipped in a 2nd batch like 4 weeks later.

I loathe their prices but was 10 year anniversary and she's titanic obsessed and likes Legos.

I still managed a degree, well paying job at the time, wife and 2 kids, one of which was born in 2001, prime EQ days. Oh and I forgot to add, bought a house at that time too, lol. What were you doing at 23 misty?

lol @ posting this on a forum where most people wasted the best years of their lives camping dragons for magic wands.
I gave a friend my login info and he did all the work. I had a nicely geared character for the 5 minutes of actual playtime I put into it.

I think theres something to be said for spending a lot of money on mass produced nonfunctional pieces of plastic.

No, not really, not in a forum where people spend a lot of money buying digital licenses for media content like video games.

The best way to stop being a "consoomer" is not to avoid buying physical goods, it's to control how much you spend on digital goods and subscription services. That's where most people's money flies out of the window without them even realizing it.

"Toys are for children, Don't be a consoomer" is just a stupid retort in a forum about video games. Video games are also for children and a complete waste of time and money.
