Just looked it up I sold AMZN over 40% ago. Life comes at you fast. And at the time it was tough because I was selling at over 10% off the highs but sure does feel good now.
Yep. I have flipped it 3 times now all taking the profits. Everyone talks about it, but it doesnt make shit for earnings except for AWS.

It's a pretty good report, not going to get a complete fall apart like the others. May have just saved the market tomorrow

Was going to say their earnings are way better than AMZN's.

I could see it going green as money leaves GOOG, MSFT, META and goes into AAPL as the "safe" play

I have said for a couple of years now, if you are going to be overweight one stock, its AAPL. I am heavy in it, but its the closest thing to Tom Brady there is.

Not surprisingly, expenses are just killing earnings.

Post that at the 136 low and it shoots up almost $10/share almost instantly. Getting memberberries of daytrading, miss slinging it on moves like that.

Hard to over state the knifes edge the market was just on. Wealthy bear traders breaking shit in their offices right now that was perfect set up for panic to set in, now instead for the moment anyway, there is a narrative for bulls to cling to. Tomorrow could be quite the battle with how big and widely owned these companies are. Going to be billions upon billions sloshing around as they try to keep momentum going and just leaving the laggards behind. To me it makes the rally more precarious. Apple is the only company in the S&P 500 with any shot of carrying the weight.

Have an earnings call to get through, if Cook is upbeat we have the setup for Apple up 3-5% tomorrow absorbing the AMZN decline. Makes tomorrow easier you don't need to watch 15 different metrics just watch apple.

I dunno, Apple is like a luxury brand. Why would the market as a whole get excited that Mercedes-Benz is doing 'okay'?

Well I'm about to step away so don't have time for the 50 page answer. Short version, markets are about sentiment. Apple can keep sentiment positive, and when sentiment is positive stocks go up. I knew that pop in apple was coming because I could read the sentiment not because of any fundamental reason. Apple is the largest company in the S&P 500 it can absorb hundreds of billions of dollars in it's market cap for fund managers to hide in without having to hit that sell button.

It's not a guaranteed result, but it is the sentiment battle that is occurring.
