Watching this thread for entries into blue chips, that I inevitably miss the entry point on, and buy 10 pts later.
This happens bc I deposit money to invest monthly so I’m always looking for entries. Instead of waiting and timing entries I immediately invest.
Picking indexes for the larger % of my entries seems like a much more manageable strategy.
Maybe I start allocating 40% SPY, 40% QQQ, and then just use 20% for blue chips.
This is literally the only way I can see to fight hyper inflation other than owning gold and silver which can be confiscated like FDR did or get you robbed.I find it adorable that the US thinks it will have a long term or really any significant way to stop countries like China from acquiring chips to do AI with... Especially since all China has to do it reassert ownership of a certain island "nation" next to it. heh
I have said and still believe that if you want to make money in the market and aren't going to commit to being a neurotic day trader that for most people finding and investing in a few good ETFs is the best method. Also buy and hold.
Russell 2000? Is that IWO you’re in? Can you give a brief insight as to why you would choose that over/in addition to QQQ?View attachment 530840
This is my dollarcost avg passive portfolio. I do not touch this thing but maybe once every few years if I'm positive I have a good read on a decline. Touched in 2018 and 2020 and I think that's about it in the last 8 years or so.
Khane where you buying regularly on the one you posted? the spy return seems to say no, you can see the same period above and this portfolio is almost entirely S&P maybe 40 grand russell 2000, I'll have to check that.

Yeah.. Somehow I made this fatal mistake and am now sitting down 23% in SNOW at the moment.. 🫠Nice. Just remember, only ever buy winners. That's how people get screwed is when they start buying loser companies. Like, why would you even buy loser companies at all?
GME again lol in the premarket.
Whats driving it is below. Roaring Kitty posted his position to Reddit for the first time in 3 years. He apparently has been building up a months position in the $20 calls while the stock was in the 12-15 range. Shorts are looking to take about a $1b loss at the open. By Monster I mean 120,000 contracts valued at about $65m. He also owns 5m shares of the company in a long position. His calls could worth x3 or x4 today depending on how the stock opens based on pre-market movement.GME again lol in the premarket.
I know large blocks of shares can be traded off-exchange, but I dont think options can be. Kitty is crazy enough that he may want to hold them into expiry and get assigned all those shares. Can he liquidate in mass to realize the gains? Or will that start causing it to tank? Would you try and script them to be spread out (100-200 contracts at a time) and sell simultaneously? That is a lot of fucking contracts to try and close out.
The most entertaining possible outcome from the 'glitch' IMO. Seems more likely a hedge fund got liquidated or something. Regardless I'm making some popcorn, speculation is fun sometimes

edit: and its halted (most likely for volatility). $35m shares traded at the open. Expect a few of these today.
Edit 2: His calls about quadrupled at the open. His cost basis is $5.65 and they hit $21. Kitty may be a billionaire by the end of the day.
