Was that hotel as interesting on its own? I mean with no keanu and an assassin breaking the rules to get to him. It might be a pretty tame place most of the time.

Yeah they're obviously going to leave the camera on and keep filming during all the boring day to day stuff of the hotel...that doesn't exist because it's fictional.

I dont recall saying all that. When keanu and rogue assassins willing to break the hotel policy for a few mil are not staying there. What else is happening? Judging by the harsh penalty for breaking their rules i would assume things are calm and quiet over there.

I don't even.

For starters, nobody said the hypothetical series would be set entirely inside the hotel and never leave. McCheese said 'Starring Ian McShane as the proprietor of the hotel'. Secondly, the hotel would be every bit as chaotic and exciting as the writers decided it would be.

Because we all know there would be zero work for the doctor, zero drama going on in the club, zero instances of the elimination team being sent out, zero titties, and zero storytelling in a series focused on the clientele of such a place.

I just saw this and it kind of felt like a modern john woo/chow yun fat action flick. The gun play was ridiculously good, especially the club scenes. It also seems ridiculous to me that keanu is 50 years old in this. Dude looks like he barely aged.

really glad Keanu is back. He has a show on the way, eli roths next horrer flick and just signed on to nicolas refn (Drive) next film which might be perfect since his films dont have much dialogue

keanu tried to make a comeback a few times, the last really big try was that day the earth stood still reboot, but it got fucked by jaden smith. keanu was solid in it though.

I liked street kings also, there just seemed like a lot of cop films that kept coming out, End Of Watch, Street Kings, Brooklyn's finest ect. Street kings also had Hugh Laurie who I really enjoy

its nothing amazing like LA confidential or Departed. i also liked brooklys finest which everyone didnt care for but i feel that was because they didnt like who lived at the end. I remember an edward norton flick being a big letdown, for a while cop movies seemed to be coming out non stop

The club sequence is gonna go down as one of my all time favorites. That was just perfect from start to end especially the music to go with it. It really made the whole scene twice as good kind of like the music from the matrix lobby scene.

Matrix Lobby scene is still my go-to scene when testing out any new piece of AV equipment or speaker setup. Just so goddamned great, the visuals, the sound, everything. I can't believe it's been over 15 years since it came out.

I will have to agree that a series centered around the Continental with each episode or two being a different story, sometimes featuring different people staying there. Also, I would imagine they cater to the whole underworld and not just travelling assassins. Wonder if they have free Wifi?

Definitely HBO territory, MAYBE Showtime or FXX.

seems like the coin operated basement is where all the deals/information exchange takes place. Wick pays a coin and gets to freely ask the guy where theon is at. (even tho if you remember the dad purposely put him in the club cuz he knew wick was coming for him)

But i say nay on dafoe, he was pretty boring and his actions scenes, yawn.

They had him sniping and protecting john the entire movie. I also like how at first you didnt know what his deal was but realize he's his family/mentor. Have Dafoe be the bad ass that trained him ect. and show past missions. Dafoe was great especially his final scene and If it wasn't for Dafoe, Wick would have been dead a couple times, not sure how you didn't care for his character. Unlike everyone else I didnt mind the final fight because I was pissed when he killed Dafoe and wanted him to go on another rampage.
