I don't really recall moments in the Bourne films where he's taking on a dozen people with guns in a small confined space. It's been a while since I've seen them, though. I mean, every action movie has unbelievable stuff but there were just so many moments in John Wick where guys clearly could have shot him from 10-12 feet away but instead decide to walk up to within 3-4 feet and then try and shoot, just so he could do some martial arts. I just think they could have framed all the situations in a more believable way; that realism would have made him seem even more impressive in my mind. Clearly with all the negs I'm getting you guys disagree and just want the pure unadulterated action.
Another scene where I rolled my eyes is at the club where Theon Greyjoy is chilling in the pool, he comes in and kills everyone he fires at in 1-2 shots, many of them direct head shots. Yet, Theon goes running in pretty clear view (just behind some glass) and not only does every shot miss, but every shot is below the chest. It's like he suddenly became a Stormtrooper for that one scene. Is that not a bit silly?
Or why does he get a room in that hotel with an obviously clear view in from the outside? If you are outside I don't see how you'd be bound by the hotel rules. He's marked for death and he should be a little more cautious than having the curtains wide open. Obviously, that lack of judgment only existed to provide Dafoe a chance to save him but that's basically making the character inconsistent from the way he's talked about and portrayed just for plot purposes. He's rusty, not supposed to be stupid.
On a side note, I thought it was kind of odd that Payday 2 had a John Wick character you could play. I wonder how that tie-in came about. Is Payday 2 really that popular?
