I think some people misunderstood me.. I don't think teemo is amazing, but I was first pick and forced into top with 2 of my best top champs banned. It was a relatively safe pick, since most people at my lvl are going to play their favorite champ, not try to counterpick someone and teemo counters pretty much every good melee top champion. Sure enough, they sent olaf against me and I wrecked him.
Teemo is not better/worse at split pushing then Shen, he's just different. He clears the waves faster and if properly setup, he'll see all the team coming to get him. If you just send one person to chase teemo out, he'll definitely get away and the other guy may die even. You can send one against shen and stop his push or force him out at least. You have to send 2-3 if you want to really get teemo out of there, but he's not nearly as useful in a team fight. Yes, Shen is a better champion overall, hence why he's banned, but teemo takes more map pressure away from other lanes and neuters most top laners (which helps make up for him being worse in team fights since the other top is as well, generally speaking).
The only thing I should have done differently, was push the lane harder, earlier. There was two times I killed olaf and was at 10-20% health and backed off. I should have just pushed tower more since I had two shrooms in river, one in tribush and another just above tribush. If I had gotten that tower a minute or so earlier, I'd have brought the jungler and mid laner to my lane even more, and it was about 2 mins after I got the first tower that their mid lane and jungler really snowballed off our derpy bottom lane.
Once I got the 2nd tower, I had planned to start shrooming near mid lane, and then swapping between their top inhib turret and mid lane towers, forcing them to stay in base and taking control of their red buff.. I just got to that a little too late I think. Plus, once the talon started bitching at me, part of me started second guessing myself and reacting to their idiotic plays rather then keeping the pressure up. Figured I might be able to come own the other team since I had highest CS in game (150ish to 120 at 20-21 mins) and was 5/1/1, but they had too much burst, mobility and CC (akali, amumu, olaf, pantheon, corki) for me to kite them.
I've always noticed once one team starts reacting to what the other is doing, rather then proactively taking objectives, they tend to lose. People just don't react quick enough or think 10 seconds ahead. Like, they wait till a huge wave is ON the tower to head that way, and most of the wave is dead to turret by the time they get there. Or, there's 3 champs there as well, they start pinging for everyone to defend and turret is dead 5 seconds before anyone gets there so everyone wasted time running there rather then pushing the lane we were in as a group of 5.
