The idea is fine, its the implementation of it that is completely terrible. Their listing of games is mostly terrible, games that make no sense or are not even available to play. They should have said ALL games or a list that made any fucking sense. The players were unsure of how it worked, it states LCS players buts it any popular streamer featured on their website as well.

Riot has all these employees, yet they can't update their game with the appropriate features, they're just worried about monetizing their game as usual. I understand Draegan, you have to monetize your website so you understand where they come from, but you're the retard here if you think Riot are going about it in the right fashion.

Alright, you win. You hear me? You win. I've been beaten. You may claim victory.

I'll clear it when S4 starts. I'll want to hear all about how you went 2-8 in placements and are stuck back at bronze 3.

Wow, Total Biscuit has basically covered everything we have said and more, all without Wizardhawk's mouthbreathing!

How is this game not in the MMO section? It follows the same basic principle of most current MMO's. Log in, queue up, play games, log out.

So with Sidian talking about Shaco yesterday I played a few games with him and the only loss I had was due to needing to run the dogs outside. Of the four games every jungler but one was complacent with their routes and let me get away with all kinds of shit.

What really stood out though was how much better Shaco's team fighting is when there isn't Oracles to deal with. You can actually stealth in and take full advantage of the duration to get into a good position or let a situation develop. I could also use Shaco's ghetto engage again. Basically you blink in while in sight of the enemy team, use his ult, and run the fuck out. Hallucinate doesn't break stealth so from their perspective a Shaco just comes out of stealth, stabs someone, and people push a whole bunch of buttons. Was quite a bit of fun.

I've never played at the toptoptop tier of professional gaming, but I have played in notable leagues in the past in several games, of course that doesn't have much to do with Riot, those leagues didn't care if you played in another league at the same time, in fact most times they encouraged it. This is how esports has been for a few years now and randomly up and saying "No fuck you, you don't get to do that" to people who are used to having that freedom >>OUTSIDE OF THEIR ACTUAL SPONSORS<< is asking a lot.

However, Riot is paying LCS players and if they sign the contract, they have to agree to it. That's a complete bummer, but not being able to stream those games on your own private account (again, OUTSIDE OF THEIR SPONSORS) and the company telling you you're not allowed to play those games is fucking bananas.

Let's start the LCSPA. We can sue the LCS for carpal tunnel and say they knew they were putting these athletes at risk they will settle for millions! If we do it right and grow it big enough we can embezzle money from the members pension. Sounds like a true American success story, right?

Eh wrong. LoL is fine, Riot is not. It was about Riot's laziness to not update their game and what not even though they have tons of employees etc. Plus some other stuff, but I don't remember.

Regardless, you quoted a post that made some real good points like player associations (which I was the first to mention it in this thread) and Riot talking with its players before introducing rules, considering that even non-LCS players did not know they were apart of this contract.

Still waiting for LoL-junkies.
A player association is going to be absolutely necessary if this game stays on it's current trajectory path or if other games hit LOL's popularity.

Why are you waiting for LOLJunkies?

That list of games includes titles such as Warhammer Online - Wrath of Heroes, a game that died back in March and you are going to take the position that I am 100% wrong for saying that this was a terrible implementation of a half-baked idea? "Ha," I say. Ha.

You said you don't understand why people are angry. If you don't understand why people are angry you don't understand the species you are a member of.
You're being stupid now. You're confusing common sense with lawyering and contract shit. When you're dealing with something like a contract, you put in everything including the kitchen sink. It doesn't hurt anyone for putting an extra 20 characters in a sentence.

You're also being fucking obtuse. I understand why people are angry, it's "WARBLEGARBLE Riot telling people what to do, OH NOES FUCK YOU!". Saying I don't understand why is my way of saying their fucking stupid to get their ass in a knot over something that is A) extremely trivial and B) good business practice from Riot's POV.

Because you kept slobbing on LoL nob so I expected some MOBA-Junkies action, except this conversation is really more about Riot than LoL anyways.

TB really does a good job hitting both sides of the argument. Guess we'll just have to see how LoL players and Riot respond, should make for some more interesting drama.

Well, it's not nice to antagonize the rest of the industry, once the LoL ship sails (and it will, sooner or later). It's also bad for upcoming talent, you can play any game you want or to be featured or even go pro, you have to play 100% LoL.

Last time Riot tried to pull this shit - telling teams to drop other games from their roster, they were promptly told to fuck off.

I mean, you can't really blame them if the players decide to sign the contract, but if none of them sign it, it'll change pretty quick. Hopefully that happens. This is a different realm of things, it doesn't need to be ran like a real sport to be successful.

You're really trying hard to make me into a LOL fanboy or something. Just because I don't enjoy your precious game of choice and agree with your hatred for Riot, don't make me out to be some fool.

You're trying to make this a thing. It's not there.

I get it, you fucking love DOTA2 and you're jealous of LOL's popularity and you wish DOTA2 had the same stage as this game. There's plenty of stuff I dislike about Riot, but that's mainly on champ/item/game balance issues. Also, some of the devs don't know what the fuck they're talking about when they comment on some shit.

They can PLAY the games, they just can't steam, endorse, or publicize them. Those are different things.

Wait, I get it.

This is part of a cross promotional plan with Guild Wars 2 or maybe Final Fantasy or MTGO or Blood Bowl or Dungeon Defenders or Counterstrike or Team Fortress 2.

I mean, it doesn't hurt anyone for putting 20 extra characters into a sentence so the fact that Riot's list doesn't make sense means it is on purpose. There are smart guys, after all. Rather than go with "LCS players are forbidden from streaming ANY other games" they carefully selected exactly the 27 titles they felt were most relevant. A list that includes dead games, games no one plays, and Playstation exclusives. Because this is not at all a poorly thought out idea with a half-baked implementation and I am 100% wrong for saying so.

My guess is that the reason that the list is odd and the reason that this got implemented is that this came from TenCent, the Chinese parent company. Riot's now stuck with trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

Update, 11:20AM PST: onGamers has confirmed with the team representatives thatLCS players are disallowed from streaming the games listed below outright, not just when adjacent to a League of Legends stream. Under Section 3 Rule 4 of the new contract handling 'Non-League Events and Streaming', it states that "... the [LCS] Team shall ensure that, during the Term of this Agreement, itsTeam Members do not publicly stream gameplay of the titles set forth on Exhibit B". Exhibit B states "the specific restrictions on streaming are set forth in the Sponsorship and Streaming Restricted List, as updated by the League from time to time", which is the document listed below.
No streaming those 27 at all.
